Royal Caribbean is the world’s second largest cruise ship company by number of ships, behind Carnival Cruise Lines (81 cruise liners). This reinforces Sembawang’s reputation as one of the world’s leading yards in the specialized segment of cruise ships repair, refurbishment and conversion. The contract will include two cruise ships that will undergo major revitalization and a third for drydocking and repairs from Jan 2013 till 2014 with total revenue ranging from S$50m-70m, depending on the scope of repairs and upgrade. Sembcorp Marine: Continues to secure jack-up rig orders
Sembcorp Marine (SMM) announced this morning that its subsidiary, PPL Shipyard, has secured two turnkey contracts worth a total of US$434m for the construction of two jack-up rigs from Integradora de Servicios Petroleros Oro Negro. Scheduled for delivery in 4Q13 and 1Q14, the pair of rigs will be built based on the PPL Pacific Class 400 design. The price tag of US$217m per rig is similar to the earlier orders (same rig design) clinched by SMM in Feb, Apr and May this year, and is a reflection of the industry’s confidence in SMM’s execution abilities. With these contracts, SMM has won new orders worth about S$10.6b YTD vs S$3.9b for the whole of last year. Maintain BUY with S$5.84 fair value estimate. (Low Pei Han)

Negro. These units are to be delivered in 4Q13 and 1Q14.
The short delivery schedule of 4-5 quarters could imply that
these units will see earnings contribution from 1Q13. The

Order momentum picking -- In what has already been a record year for orders, Sembcorp Marine announced another drillship order from Sete Brasil for US$806mn. This brings its year-to-date orders to S$10.4bn.
We expect order momentum for the company to pick up going into 2013 from the likely return of drilling semi-submersible orders. Sembcorp Marine is our preferred pick in the rig-building space and we expect the shares to react positively to this new order.
With its shares trading at 11x 2013E P/E, we believe valuations remain attractive for a pure-play rig-builder leveraged to a continued increase in oil industry spending. We reiterate our OW rating on the company.
the fortunate things from this unfortunate incident are i) there are no fatalities and major injuries ii) no oil pollution iii) no damage to state property...else can become very very messy.
the damages are within SMM and they had handled the situation well.

Exceelent time to accumulate. Those who use Elliot Wave TA, this is a normal pattern to dip before the next powerful wave will come to move above the last resistance 4.6
It just so happened the industrail accident occurred during this time. Just like Olam, SMM and SCI, true blue chip co will ride thru the storm bcos it has good fundamental ...
And the co business & operation is clear ... it will rise up again, just waiting for the fund managers to return from holiday ... ST recently reported that equities will be bullish during year end ... haha ... cheers

Just imagine if the fault occur during operation. The whole rig will burn and oil will spill off and may be worse than gulf Mexico accident.

This is a good example of a reverse psychology play. It consists of a typical bull trap to suck in traders who got tricked by false breakout, which the BB used to prey on the minds of retail traders. I supposed from newspaper reported old rig for repair lah....no worries all pay by insurance companies,delay one weeks for investigation common lah MOM wayang wayang only they don't know how to find fault lah.Testing procedure first must approved by owner before test if accident happened just make good back lah...business carry on .Everywhere in building/construction site accidents do happened common lah.. No design issue is koay for SembMarine share loh...
