from an FA point of view, i dun mind holding K1 stocks for long term as it is the closest to what Warren Buffet does, which is invest in good company. what i dun like is the dividend polices. I rather they invest in their profit in new purcahses than give it out.
TA point of view, today rally (before the slide) is just the tip of the iceberg. $0.44-0.48 is no joke within 1 month if the condition is better.
suggestion. Buy on weakness, but discreetly, and hold for $0.44 min.
cut lost if slide below $0.375
tomolo rally will be mild in fact may even drop to $0.385
Tks for sharing, teeth.
Just FYI: my next one is on China CNersave seem a good company to look at for investment, pls note is my personnal opinion oni hohh.... anyway i am still vested here and will wait.. for tp to arrive.
Congrat..to u. Terencefok i was abit worry that i post abit late to answer ur Q? hope it help abit in my explanation.
Here is the reason. they earn it and it is form part of the earn cap, so they the big boss called it capital distribution. Have a good look at www.sgx.com.sg
New way and new style called it what ever they like early X'mas present. This Coy is growing stronger everydays so is the px. but do take care is your hard earn money, got some profit, take some and give other a chance to earn some.
Thk all fellow members, thk u wish U luck in coming days and more kopi $$$ liao $0.48 will have to wait for a while.
Hi everyone
Congrats to all who bought this stock..(include myself)
i think i will be waiting for $0.48 to cash in. just my personal opinion.
by the way, can anyone tell me why the co. calls it a capital distribution rather than a dividend?
tks
Great volume but price marginally up only... then again, comparing to the general market trend for today it has held up pretty well. Wonder if it will surpass .44 as what some of us are holding up for.
Any views?
Thanks to cashiertan, teeth53, derekchong, allantan, nexusnixx etc for your contributions. Hi derekchong, you dont have to apologise for not encouraging me to buy more. Like what forumers say, one has to be responsible for one's own money, each has his own on risks appetite and trading methods etc. As I am a beginner to FA and TA, I am grateful for all the comments & advice given as they are really helpful. Cheers !!!
sell at 40 cents is not a bad move since it is never wrong to take profit.
My sense is that it is worth holding on. My first target is $0.42.
sell at 40c??? no lah.... wait somemore..... today market open at 40.5c, now pulling back..... hence some will panic and dump...... patience is a virtue
tks to all the Veteran Si Fus' good tips. Had vested. Alas, can see some money hoh....will sell at 0.40 too.
So long no make money liao.
Good news. Hang on to your investment unless TA gurus say otherwise.
Sale of Gasco boosts k1 Ventures earnings
Record profit of $175.6 million for year ended June 30
By CONRAD RAJ
KEPPEL Corporation's investment affiliate, k1 Ventures, put on another sterling performance for the financial year ended June 30, 2006, thanks largely to the sale of The Gas Company (Gasco) in Hawaii.
Group profits after tax and minority interests (PATMI) shot up 211 per cent to a record $175.6 million from $56.5 million previously on the back of a 70 per cent increase in group turnover to $981.9 million from $405.1 million.
Earnings before interest, tax and exceptional items, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) went up 278 per cent to $346.6 million from the previous year's $91.7 million mainly as a result of a $170-million gain from the disposal of Gasco, which was originally acquired by k1 in August 2003.
The company sold Gasco to Macquarie Gas Holdings for a total US$268 million, comprising a cash consideration of US$238 million plus a working capital adjustment of US$30 million.
Shareholders will receive a capital distribution of six cents a share arising from Gasco's sale which was completed just before the financial year ended.
