hi fortunegal, as a starter surface analysis (not in-depth) of hot stocks by simon will be good for the newbies.

another issue to be addressed: participation. spouses/relatives/friends to be excluded if not registered otherwise may exceed your 35-40 quota

 

About ur concern of decipher's class "next door ': I don't think he would mind at all. In fact , this might help him get better exposure and improve his ' business '. I think u have already given him the exposure by admitting that u had attended his class and also he had been ' interviewed ' by SJ in Research. Banish such thoughts, I say. Small fries like us need all the help we could get !

You are doing a great job and deed ! Keep it up !

 

I think ur choice of location at Shenton area is ideal for all reasons: familiarity of the location, transport , car park , internet, projector, whiteboard etc. glad to be of some help .

 

novena_33, yes i have think of it before, thank you for addressing this. But as we are still in the planning phrase (esp it is only  4 days ago that I started this thread). will try to give the pointers to everyone once things are more or less completed at Simon's side. But the title of the presention will be something like "Stock market analysis n gathering of SJ forumers".

i don't mind paying the $5....
Think the confirmation email part is really a good idea.
Else you might have a few participants that might have something on and their places go vacant

I dont mind paying the $5. Prior to the meeting, you may want to send email confirmation to participants regarding the place and time. Particpants should also confirm they are attending (incase last minute urgent matter to attend to).

Thanks for taking all this touble to set up this event, I have no problem with the $5.

I may be giving u more problems... sorry... I was think maybe we can have some areas that we like Simon to touch on, or maybe we can have a feel of what Simon will be presenting (in a few pointer). Since both Simon and youself is doing for free, just feel abit pesiah to take up too much of his and your time....thanks u..

Hehe... you are  making my mouth water already just with the thought of the abalone ... (I can't bear to think of all the many poor helpless sharks lying on the oceon floor, alive, breathing and moving but unable to swim). 


But, frankly speaking, I think if I propound my advice in person to an audience, I may have to wear a protective overall suit to fend off the bad eggs I expect to be hurled from the furthest corner of the assembled audience, especially those who treat the stock market as a place to make good money easily.

This is because the conventional stock market player expects to profit in a big way when they punt (or invest).

Since my advice is always in advocating the adoption of  a defensive posture in accordance with what you can afford to lose rather than a desire to make good money quickly.

So you see, I have no faith that my advice will be appreciated, if at all.
