yeps, no prob rayphua, most ppl do think i'm older from the way i write etc. then they see me, they think i'm younger. still get carded sometimes. *give up* respectable demeanor: i don't suppose you've read my ding dong posts, have you? or that gems bet with cks, rogue, eastonbay. keke. :P

but yea, on the market, it's experience that counts, and age and experience are not necessarily related, since it depends entirely on memory and whether you remember the lessons you've learnt. Some people will keep repeating mistakes. for me, once is ok, two can be accident, three means you did not learn your lesson.

so i take down all the reasons why i buy a stock, i have records of all my predictions even for counters i don't buy; this way, i can keep verifying my techs/skills, and keep improving myself this way: what did i go wrong, how, why? so it's not just about the money. 

was too young for the 1997 meltdown myself, but saw the ppl around me crash; the 2003 crash i know. So yea, i'd never underestimate the market. that's why i rabidly check and recheck my techs each time, as i was telling asterisk before.

props: vietnam is a good preposition. I'm actually considering hawaii. 300k for one acre of land, freehold. argh, for that amt, we get a puny 4 rm flat here? co-ownership, sure, some day, when elf can get big enough, why not? keke.

Elfin, I'm vested in some properties in India and China currently.  Looking to visit Ho Chi Minh again for another potential buy.  Can share, no problem.  Who knows, perhaps we may one day do a co-ownership deal together as well, eh? :)

The last time I went on holiday was in December mah.... its usually quiet in December anyway.   Can't wait to get into the warm water!!

hey, you're into props. perhaps you could offer elf advice then? am considering vesting in props, but not locally. assuming you're vested in overseas, which market would you recommend?

you're a momentum trader, dif from my own style. all the more interested to learn. keke. elf has no msn tho. email? or are you likely to get flooded by requests if you post it out? :P

as for elf (fwah, i'm damn thickskinned, aren't i. hahahaha!): i've been investing since 18. my goal's simple: financial independence by 29, financial freedom by 35.

Been thinking about this intro thing, didn't see an intro template.  Anyway here goes nothing, Elfin and all.

Age:  37 this year. 

Education:  Spent 5 years in the states for my bachelors.  Best years of my life.

Work:  Worked in Natsteel, International Herald Tribune before I moved to running my family's furniture business in Asia.  Fly alot, but for work, to Italy, Spain, US, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Indonesia, and Malaysia where we have offices in.  Planning for a possible listing in 2 to 3 years.

My loves:  Those yearly vacations esp off the beaten track, movies, lost tv-series (haha), and being free.

Personality:  Straight-talking, to the point.  Quite a dare-devil.  Pretty aggressive, and focused.  Life's too short to be too restrained.  Enjoy helping and mentoring people, cuz I never had that when I was younger and I wish someone did then.

Goals:  Semi-Retirement by 40.

Investing:  Since I was 21, in equities and properties.

emotional plays in action.. retail players doesn't which to cut loss, thinking it is just a "temporary setback".. BBs are slowly waiting to offload their holdings and if they haven't finish offloading, they will "staged" another rally to "attract" more small players like me..*sighz*.. quite sad to see the market being "played" from this morning til now.. "getting the pig to "kang" the dog" (in hokkien).... 

 

jerome, i oreadi told you no more CBA for you liao, only kopi dregs... actually got 1 lah, bt must wait for the "dust to settle".. long positions of 3 - 6 months and somemore pricing quite affordable too.. kopi ti-lok is kopi without the hot water one (all kopi, dat y must add 1 more small teaspoon of milk).. some kopishp understand some dun, some wan 10cents more whil some dun need.. i think dat auntie stares at u coz maybe u pronouce "wrongly" la.. hahahaha.

 

erm, Geojam, i've always known that DBS is just a big fish in this small pond called Singapore, that bullies their way around. 

So i am not surprised when you say the market capitalisation is double for CBA.

If u think DBS is big...CBA is at least double DBS market capitalisation.

 

Ah, CBA has a branch office here too. My friend working in it.
