Bouygues Construction has won a US$74 million contract to build the second phase of Yangon's Star City in a joint venture with Serge Pun's SPA Project Management Ltd.
" More than 500 staff and workers will be employed on the project and will be trained to modern construction techniques. Know-how transfer will be one of the key factors to success of the project," said the Singaporean company in a statement released on Thursday.

Its definitely up to you! Digicel is pretty much a 'specialist' in telecoms development  for developing countries. It is by no means a small fry looking at its market cap. Do also note that they've been sponsors for Myanmar Football for awhile, hence their presence  in the country  has been  existent for  awhile.  Coupled with the backing of Soros and Pun, getting one of the licenses should not be a problem. The key lies in the synergy between Pun and Soros- if their cooperation is one that goes beyond business, with both sides willing to compromise when  a situation arises, we  will definitely  see this partnership booming in the near future.

Technically, Yoma (Z59) has been showing support around 0.73 and resistance in the 0.841 price range. The technical indicator shows a buy with the 0.983 target price in six months. For detail, see here:  Yomahttp://sgx.stoxline.com/quote.php?s=z59
Applications to be submitted by June 3rd, and result to be announced by June 27th.  But what is the odd of YOMA+Digicel winning the bid when  competing wth other world-class telecomm providers ?  If stock rallies on the news tomorrow, better to sell into strength?
The twelve pre-qualified applicants (in alphabetical order) are:
        Airtel Consortium
Axiata Group Berhad
Digicel
France Telecom-Orange + Marubeni
KDDI Corporation + Sumitomo Corporation + Myanmar Information and Communication Technology Development Corporation (MICTDC) + A1 Construction
Millicom International Cellular S.A.
MTN Consortium (MTN Dubai + M1 Telecom + Amara Communications)
Qatar Telecom (Qtel) Q.S.C (" Ooredoo" )
Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) + KBZ + Myanmar Telephone Company Limited (M-Tel)
Telenor Mobile Communications AS
Viettel Group
Vodafone + China Mobile
I won't be surprised if YOMA venture into the Oil and Gas sector with a western oil company in June.

Serge Pun got too much connections in the country liao. He's like the Li Ka Shing of Myanmar. He's got a stake in nearly every industry in the country.
Among all Myanmar play.... yoma is the best....

YOMA consortium selected for the next stage for a telco license in Myanmar.
Mr Serge Pun, Chairman of Yoma commented, “We are delighted that our consortium has been approved to make a formal bid for a telecommunications licence in Myanmar. Along with our consortium partners Digicel and Quantum, we will be working hard to submit our detailed plan to provide the people of Myanmar with a world-class telecommunications network."
Hope they would be granted one of the two license on offer.

Anyone got a clue what time the announcement would be made?
Pre-qualification result will be announce tomorrow .
In my opinion very good chance to go thru the 3rd round. I am very hopeful that YOMA together with DIGICEL AND GEORGE SORO's Quantum Fund to be offered the license.
Keep YOMA ON WATCHLIST TOMORROW.
I believe YOMA WILL REQUEST TRADING HALT.
For more info go to this Myanmar gov. Website.

Rumour that Yoma's consortium had make it to the 2nd round
where do you find that the shortlisted bid is tomorrow?
Breakout! Now let's see whether its can  maintain at this level when announcement by Myanmar Govt  is made tmr! All the best to those vested!
i dare to be opposite, no foreseeing profit in near term. Game on news is losing its steam. Just my 2 cent, no offence,
There seems to be strong support at 0.78! Will a gap up or breakout seem possible in the coming weeks?
How about the rights issue? $0.38 per rights  share for every 4 existing ordinary shares. Any impact?
Yoma on super low vol, oni 7mil shr, see oni 1-2 lotters players for the last 1.5 hr at 0.785-0.790.
