Yes...

Owners of the bluest of blue chips can go "pok!" in just two months...

And why not?

They think in terms of fundamentals, not the beast...

Having joined this forum only four months ago, I find it quite scary the way some of the people purchase or sell their holdings here. The way they try to justify why they are still holding or why they sold off doesn't make sense to me. I guess if you're a fundamental player like me, believe in your readings of the company and balance sheets, read the analyst reports but take into account their assumptions to get a broader picture of the global market. If you're a trader, read the individual company charts while keeping track of the sector performance. It's served me well so far. Cheers.

i paid huge tuition fee in year 2007 .

so that is why, when i see people chase stock when STI 3000, i feel they are like my previous me ....

Yes. Agree with iPunter.

Playing stocks is not as simple as it looks.

Must pay some "tuition fee" first.

For maximum benefit, newbies should digest my posts in a 'big picture' manner...

Playing stocks is not such a simple matter as buying some attractive stock and then shouting "Cheong Arh"...

It is actually a very complex undertaking which embodies very significant psychological undertones...

Thus, before newbies can intimately appreciate such complexities,

it is best for them to be guided by broad hints, such as "don't play with stocks"... Smiley

I don't care much about the STI...

It is unreliable as a tool to get a feel of the market...

Because the market can be sickly but yet the STI can still be 'cheonging' and 'cheonging'...

I get my market feel  by studying all the individual stock charts in the whole market... Smiley

How long the downtrend will last no one can tell...

Not even the best fortune tellers in the whole wide world...

(Unless they are channelled through the 'spirit of the stock market')

If your own bet is right, then you are already as good as the best fortune teller in the world...

well. ipunter, then u expect this downtrend to last for how long and down to what level ya? well, i have been waiting this for quite long time. hahahahaha

Well, I won't say I make a lot or plenty...

But I am happy that I play both sides of the market, rather than be only one-sided,

Being one-sided is practically a sure-to-lose proposition...

And averaging down (ie. buying more and 'cheaper') in a protracted downtrend is also a sure-to-lose habit... Smiley

If u r "investing" using spare $$, manage with risk assessment...

Cant bear with any loss at all of cos no play == win....

If u r long term... buy using spare cash when mkt is low...

If u r trader... cut loss to minimize loss... n let profits run.... to overall "winning"....

easier said than done of cos...

Cant afford to lose... don play...
