Yeah my paper loss is terrible too, but this situation sort of make me relaxed since there is nothing I can do about it and there will be no rebound within the next few months that would be enough to let me breakeven.

In other words, I lose until cry also no tears, but thank god its still on paper.

Now my paper loss is over 50%, but I don't feel sad. Actually, I am little happy because its time to sit back and relax.

US lifted the shorting ban, that also assist in accelerating the downfall.

Recapitalization in this context take a stake in the Banks. This would shore up confidence. Dows failure is partly attributed to short selling (I believe) and today's GDP flash signalling tech recession, and poor showing in US, and Japan (almost down 10%) have hit STI hard.

Wonder if the lifting of the shorting rule aided the sudden plunge in the dow.  i thought when europe open, people become a bit optimistic then Dow seems ok and then the sudden plunge.

We are now submerged below 2000. US Recapitalization is very important and they have to act fast with tomorrow critical finance leader meeting.

If you want some good picking, look out for those with very strong cash in the bag. They are the ones that can tie through this crisis.

I think STI will end higher today with China's rate cut last night. The last time round SCI went up over 5% after the rate cut announcement...

In your view, how long will it take for it to seep to the ground level?

iPunter      ( Date: 09-Oct-2008 08:40) Posted:

Massive bailouts aside, the final effects of the underlying problems arising out of the sub-prime sagahas probably yet to seep through to the ground ...

Unlike the past, this is not a short-term episode of panic-selling out of fear alone...
It is something more severe than anything ever seen... Smiley
