looks like there's gonna b a revival with Temasek vested in this..

So now got one rig out - improvement but slight--october then start...that's another 6 months no income, ....since no other available to lease out in between!

Just hav a feeling one fine day.  JasperInv can becoming K. Fel..., just like Dyna-mic for K.Corp.
Recently added 2 rigs built by K Fels...but still no leasing of rigs??? anyone got news? or is it spend spend spend no income!!!

I have observe the last two days the volume is high. I am making a wild guess this counter might be gearing for a short uptrend very soon, cannot decide to buy or wait. Jasper has not been making money.
I remember after the consolidation my earlier shares were reduce and was traded around 50 cents. Today it has drop to 6cents no point for me to sell the few earlier lots, I still just hold and just wait don't till when.

I am going to their AGM on 28 July. Going to ask some questions and get more info. Vested
This counter cannot Buy lah.
Making losses for the last 3 years and still are in the latest Quarter.
Falling for a long time and still cannot see the ground below.
I suggest you cut loss and move on.
This is my personal view, you invest at your own risk.
Good luck.
one of the worst counter i bought and have keep for many years, all my profit of other counters all sucked up by this share

Will it good to do the costdown averaging for this counter at their bad time?
me too, all my other counters making profit or lose juz a bit except this one

I am keeping this stock JASPER INVESTMENTS LIMITED since years 2007 at 3 cents before the SHARE CONSO OFFER OF 1 FOR 25 on Apr 2008 and never apply for both right issue on 2008 and 2009. My current Cost is at 0.76 and dun know have to wait for how many years to come since this company is still making loss money business.
i can't give you a true value yet, but do note that the NAV is 20+ US cents, so S$ is abt 30 plus cents, so stock is now at a discount to NAV.
Also note that current operating profit of US$66m is only with one drillship in operation. Still have two more have not start operation. Looking to a recovery in global economy, i believe the Explorer will soon be able to contract out, and maybe the Finder will follow next.
Looking forward, what is the value of this company?
No worries. Still vested here. Impairment loss, operations still positive. Look at cash flow statement, operating profit before working cap. changes US$66m. This figure is what i focus on, as money that needs to be paid to suppliers, creditors, purchase inventory or fixed assets, or even pay taxes and dividends (all the payments) needs to come from some where. Apart from raising funds from shareholders or borrowings, operations of a company are critical to ensure creditors will be paid, suppliers will be paid, taxes and so on........
In simple language, operations make profits, then can make all kinds of payments.
Rights issue will be used to repay bridging loan from Morton Bay, which is used to upgrade the Explorer from 3,500 ft drilling depth to 5,000 ft. Deeper waters command higher rates. Moreover, shallow waters are seeing oil deplete due to global consumption. Reliance does not need the Explorer? No worries, economy is starting to pick up. OPEC is confident oil will be back to US$75 soon. Once the oil goes up, demand for rigs and drillships will pick up again.
Looking at the medium to longer term, there is still potential for this to become a "mini Keppel".
Cheers
Jasper's result just out ...
Make huge losses in Q4 .... due to impairment.
Water under the bridge??
Looking forward with cash raised from right issues and with the availability of the rigs ... what's next??
If Resource Holdings is listed, what is the impact?
Is Jasper going to be out of the wood??
Some updates here:
i) Resource Holdings has withdrawn its proposed listing application. This means Resource continues to remain as an associate of Jasper.
ii) Jasper announced last month about some delay in payments from PDVSA and a mooring line had snapped. The mooring line issue has been fixed and has continued operations. Some downtime though...
iii) Jasper just announced that it had received payments from the period Oct to Dec 2008.
Had went to Neptune Marine's website and tried to understand the fault from looking at the drawings of the ship.
Will continue to provide updates. Q3 results should be out anytime this week.
Vested.

Not posted anything for some time. Back to my of my favourites.
Jasper has on Thursday, 2 October 2008 announced that its associate, Resource Piling has lodged its preliminary prospectus with MAS on the proposed listing of Resource Holdings.
Resource Holdings was incorporated on 30 January 2004, under the name Resource Assets Pte Ltd and adopted the present name on 18 October 2007. Upon the lodgement of the final prospectus, the Company will be holding four subsidiaries, one of which is Resource Piling, a 45% associate of Jasper. Once listed, Jasper will own between 28-29% of Resource Holding's enlarged share capital. The Company intends to acquire the entire capital of Resource Piling Pte Ltd and fund through the issuance of shares in the Company.
Presently, assume US$1=S$1.45, the value (cost plus post acquisition share of profits) of Jasper's holdings of Resource Holdings would be S$0.075. Presently, its actual acquisition cost is S$0.033. If the listing goes through, it would raise the NAV of Jasper.
Staying vested here. Cheers
