If you are buying Boustead now, it really IS the construction business that you should be buying it for, and not for the other businesses. Some time ago, it was for the water and energy engineering segments, but in my view they have probably at best market-performed. But their industrial construction subsidiary, Boustead Projects, is the gem as of now. Go and read about it in its website www.boustead.com.sg.

Last week replenished some lots at 1.93 (avg). Checked my CPF investment, avg cost of boustead at 77cts. At current $2 price, the return is 160% over 5 years,   32% per annual, excluding div &  bonus share issue. Not to boast here, there are many others better, just to say  i'm extremely satisfied with this company.

Hope that boustead continue to bring us more good return.

Cashiertan, this company is very diversify in business, but don't think its in the construction business. but you are right that investors are selling out as the share price has risen from less than $1 to present $2 is too attractive to miss out. Cheers.

Good summary, read POEM hold status on this counter too.

But personally believe that the valuation is at the high side riding on the positive sentiment of the market, therefore waiting for a good entry price.  On hindside, I might miss the boat if it continue to thread higher as the fundamental is solid as a rock..... well, better to be on the conservative side for now.Smiley

yeah... hold if u already brought... only buy when the market weaken...

Reading the philip report, pondering over these :-

1) Overall business will be doing well in the coming yr, but suspect traditional growth wont be that exciting

2)  New price mover have to come from , Industrial real estate project, salcon water project, vietnam power project, acquistion

Industrial real estate project, highly possible but dun moved revenue/price much. Salcon water project, wait and wait, still no good news. Vietnamese power project, highly speculative. Acquistion, last thing in their mind maybe.

In order to proceed further, boustead need some catalyst ( big project or new development) that is sustainable.

Just my 2cts worth of thought.

For info, latest report is from Phillips Securities TP is $2.17. But I don't take TP into consideration when long-term prospects are good. Think about the company and what sectors they are in, and how they have a strong competitive edge. This company should be valued much higher than 14x as mentioned in the analyst's report.

For the full report, go to http://www.remisiers.org/research.html

Cheers.

Agree with musicwhiz5 and stocker2007.  Very good and strong company.  I have profited from this counter many times - since its penny days .... About 1 week ago, I queue to buy (at 6 bids lower) and "heng heng" done at $1.88 :)  Cheers to all those vested !

Ministry gives go ahead to Singapore-based Boustead power project
04-MAY-2007 Intellasia | 02/May/2007 Saigon Times Daily page 1
May 4, 2007 - 7:00:00 AM

The Ministry of Industry has just agreed in principle to a project by Singapore's Boustead Group to develop a size able thermo-power plant in the central province of Binh Dinh, a provincial official said.

The source from Binh Dinh Investment Promotion Centre said the group planned to develop the power complex on 300 hectares that will have a designed capacity of 500MW. Once commissioned, the project worth some US$500million will help solve the current power shortage of the country, he added.

The project will be developed in Phu Cat District in the province's Quy Nhon City, and if licensed, it will be the single largest project there, said the source.

However, the final say for a project of this scale rests with the central government, and the ministry will submit a petition to the prime minister to seek approval for the project.

Vietnam's demand for energy is increasing strongly in line with fast economic expansion. The local power sector is facing huge pressure from such demand, which is increasing by an annual 15 to 20%.

The centre also said that Boustead Group had plans to invest in some other projects in the province with total funds of hundreds of millions of dollars.

Recently, Binh Dinh Province has granted a license to Singapore's Optivest Investment Pte. Ltd, a subsidiary of Boustead Group, to build and operate a modern crematorium and memorial park in the province, the first of its kind there.

The investor will set up Optivest Binh Dinh Ltd to build the park in Quy Nhon City scheduled for opening early By 2008. The company is expected to invest US$5 million in the park, which will cover 12 hectares and have facilities for administration, bone-ash storage, funerals, and car parking.

It might just be the case that its most valuable unit is not the water or oil&gas division, but Boustead Projects. Its niche in high-value-add industrial facilities construction is likely to be in hot demand, both locally and overseas, for years to come.

Another contract clinched by Boustead today ! Although value not mentioned, it willpush its order book significantly above S$400 million.

No need to have a target price for this company, the fact that it is progressive, well-managed and growing should be good enough reason to invest in it. Note: There has been absolutely NO analyst coverage of this company since the beginning of 2007.

Vested, and optimistic of FY 2007 results. :)
