see the number of replies on this thread just alone on this particular correction period...i don't think it will last very long also...the release of many results in August alone should pick things up...

actually this correction on the other positive hand is good as when you pick up the cheap buys upon first detection that market has turnaround ...then you can ride the wave quickly up...many stocks such as Armarda, Banjoo, Rowsley, Jade...etc etc still have the energy to go...imagine buyers' sentiment once this correction phrase is over...that's quite a bit of  tactical psychology actually

There are a few reasons why the stock market in Singapore went down today.

1. Raise on Property Development charges.

2. Export figures was down. (Heard from someone)

3. Nearly all exchanges round the world went down also today,

except for 2 stock exchanges.

Anyone have any more reasons ?

suggest staying out of the mkt for the next few daz esp when mkts across are in the midst of a "knee jerk" correctn i.e. slide first then pick up pace for the rest of the year haha...? We are also hit by a mid wk correction which may last at least till Fri with perhaps more contra & margin players being forced to leave within these 2 daz or so...

Some good value penny stocks may seem very attractive nw esp and it may be tempting to pick up but is it time? My view is to perhaps hold our horses first coz money lost can be recovered if we're...PATIENT... perhaps to pick up only unless we are prepared to hold them for the longer run?

made quick profit tdy on 2 penny stocks, cut loss fast on 2 others and still sitting on paper loss for 2 other value stocks...   Smiley

Sorry to ask hor, but can any one tell me if Index Points (Market Indices) can be invested/speculated ?

I am asking cos i am a newbie and think straight that could it be BBs sold the Indices heavily across the board and thus cause panic sellings by retailers, investors, speculators etc ?

A bit like all BBs agreed on the timing to sell their Market Index Points for one reason or another ?Smiley

Pai Seh and correct me if i am wrong...Thanks

wowo.. US having moderate growth worSmiley

"Overall, the U.S. economy appears likely to expand at a moderate pace over the second half of 2007, with growth then strengthening a bit in 2008 to a rate close to the economy's underlying trend,"

japan's interest rate is now 0.5%..any increase/s wud probably b up to 1% (i.e. up to march next yr). Elsewhere interest rates are above 5%...hence yen carry trade wud not b a threat to liquidity for a long time (maybe 3 to 4 years from now).
