well basically for those who have invested in this stock for a long period of time are reaping their harvest..... stock movement of this stock does not cause any heart attacks.. but the dividends that the company pays out is always a welcoming gesture... it depends on the risk appetite of investors.... some go for defensive stock... some go for aggressive ones... its our choice....
for me.... i am glad i have been loading up on this stock for 3 years..... it beats having to put money in bank....
Basing on the current trading price of 0.225 to 0.23, the full year divdient of 8 cents worked out to be 34.7% return. Of it, if approved, about 21.7% or 5 cents is paying out soon.
K1 seems to be a good buy.... even better than REIT for long-term investment.

terence,
Judging from their past actions, that is my personnal opinion. I may be wrong and they probably have some other agenda.

K1 FY08 YE is 30 June.
In the past 2 years (FY06 n 07) K1 made cap distr to its shareholders of 6c each. It was justifiable for FY06 as it made a eps of 9.24c from the sale of GASCO. However, FY07 eps was a mere 1.31c and yet it declared a cap distr of 6c.
This reduced the NAV and NTA of K1 from 32c and 21c in FY07 to 24c and 14c in 3Q08. Seems to me K1 is trying to gradually liquidate it assets thru cap distr.
On 17 Jun, it announced the sale of approx half its holdings of MacMoran Oil which will contribute to the eps by 2c and NAV by 1c. Together with ytd 3Q08 eps of 1.4c, FY08 eps should come in at about 3.4c. Also, pretax cash proceeds from this sale is about S$96m or about 4.4c per share.
With Co. trying to reduce its assets by cap distr, can shareholders expect a more generous cap distr?
Bear in mind, in the past 3 mths, KepCorp increased its stake in K1 by approx 2.4m shares.
