Hi Simon,

Thanks for the reply. Regarding your reply on Jiutian, you suggested exiting now. Can i hold on to it and wait for price to go up 10 cents first before exiting? right now, its $1.71. Bought 5 lots jiutian $2.25. My heart bleeds so much. My China energy is also stuck in there. Bought 10 lots at $1.26.

Do the above 2 company have strong fundamentals? If they have strong fundamentals, can i say they are worth keeping?

Also  have CG Tech 10 lots at $0.815  and Rotary 8 lots at $1.01

Ai ya... regretted not selling Rotary at $1.10. Now i feel so stupid. Feeling helpless. Can only wait patiently for market to rebound. Any other alternatives you wan2 suggest?

Furthermore, I see that, although you appear to a technical analyst, you actually ignore some integral technical aspects of charting, such as trendlines, chart patterns/formations, channels, breakouts, etc.

And you seem to read only indicators derived from volume, and nothing else.

And if I am not wrong, from a previosu post of yours, you seem to confirm what I've mentioned by the fact that you also ignore target prices.

To me the whole point of trading by the technicals is to determine price targets by identifying trends, etc. in order to avoid being caught in time-wasting reversals and counter-trends.

But it seems strange to me for you to say that...

I mean, I thought it works the other way round ...

ie. everything shows on the chart... including external shocks (in which case, prices break down below the supports).

Hi iPunter,

What I mean is that I feel that TA works best when there are no sudden external shocks applied to the market.

Singaporegal...

I 'beggingly' differ from that view... hope you will not be offended even a bit by it... ;)

For me, as a pure technician who trades by the technicals all the time, a downtrend is a downtrend and I will never buy in a downtrend until there's a technical rationale eg. a likely support level, a breakout, etc. as determined objectively.

To me a price chart doesn't 'go bonkers' at all, but simply show the actions of the market participants all the time (maybe some indicator s/advanced formulae may go bonkers).

Those who want to buy in now should do so on strong FA fundamentals. From a TA outlook, the market has gone bonkers...

Or it's a PANDA BEAR MARKET JUST STARTING,

As Simon say the answer is not very clear yet...we can still punt but it's a casino style thing now , IN and OUT, win or loss, please don't ever

waste your ammo,  reserve some FIREPOWER to fight on....

remember, 1987, 1997..... and now 2007, none of us expect it so early thIS WATER PIG START MESSING UP....but in this fire year.. we will see lots of votalities too.... hold, selll , cut losses....bargain hunting... whatever, just remember stick to only counters with growth.potantial.and when we shall be ok,....

Hey Simon,

Thanks for your views. Actually I have similar views with Novocaine. Thats y such a headache decision. Its like fabchem was already lowly priced. I have already exit the rest of my stocks like Tiong Woon, BBR and Delong. Left with CitySpring still in profit side and Fabchem which I cant really bear to sell. haha Hoping to catch the upswing of Fabchem. OK thanks for both of your views Simon and Novocaine.

Hows your side doing? Good Luck to all!

in these kind of scenarios the worst hit stocks are those highly overvalued ones..so be rational in cutting loss..asess the counters u hold and cut loss if u think they are too highly valued..for those counters which are undervalued they may see a short term weakness in price due to human emotions and panic but may recover in future..at the moment economy is doing fine and so no real reason to panic..

my take is this..for those who dun need the money urgently should hold on to fabchem..its a highly volatile stock due to its small issue..if u notice the volume is normally not very high and big changes in price is seen for small volumes..and furthermore with dyno nobel on board they will be determined to make sure their investment is worth it..and dun forget their bought stakes is up to 0.70 per share and this will be realised once fabchem gets their export license which will enable them to not rely on middle man and hence boost their profit margins..
