Market not bad leh,esp during Fri.
Ha ha, MM remarks during yesd meeting Nippon Industrial n commerce leaders was worth pondering. He stressed that country leader must hv good brain n foresight.
Co-relate to d funny fuel tax rule going to impose in our neighbour. No singaporean wanted to go Johor Bahru for leisure anymore, at least till next May, as spore car must not hv more than 20 litre of fuel in car once leaving JB custom.
Spore car must hv 3 qtr tank to cross custom, u hv to drain away d fuel before u re-enter spore, if not your car is liable to be confiticated being violation of d funny local fuel rule .
They wanted sporean to invest in d Iskandar Industrial area, ds rule will kill their plan as well. Alamah, otak(brain) is d problem. Cheers.

That boss is kind at heart.
Knowing fully well office workers always, as a rule, lose money if they continue dabbling in stocks.
Furthermore, losing money will definitely affect their work performance directly on account of their mental state...

You are naively thinking that today's kids can be so easily controlled by simply buying a condo and then confining them to the condo?
Not that simple, especially with the Internet available on 24/7.
Furthermore, a child's character cannot be simply changed or controlled by simply living in a condo....

People here have the nasty habit of casually blaming the victims of tragedies for being gamblers, borrowers, etc., and not thinking of what drove them to it in the first place.
They may not be gamblers, but perhaps having many money problems, tried ways to make some money (stocks, lotteries, etc) which they very desperately need for the sake of their families and loved ones.
Criticizing others is the easiest thing to do, without thinking of the underlying circumstances..
But of course when they play stocks, they are are actually gambling because it such a highly risky thing.

Who knows that there might also be some non reported tradegies related to stock market losses. Maybe families or marriage problems coming up too. Imagine a bread winner, for example losing his savings or money for children's education or supporting old and sick parents. Too much evils of society to mention.
So boss is doing the right thing. A friend nearly wanted to end his own life had not been for friends stopping him on time and conselling. Now he has given up stocks and concentrating on his work. Your boss has a kind heart though a bit too harsh.

I think your boss means Good for all his staff . In recent years, there just too many suicides relating to 'stocks and shares' and debts which have caused some precious lives....
The recent tragedy 3 lives were lost (2 kids and father) ..

If you take your boss' advice, you will be much wiser than now...
Unless you can tell me which office worker ever made money dabbling in stocks?
Even if they ever made some in a roaring bull market by simply 'whacking' blindly on any stock.
They always end up losing money...
and then they will ask their boss for a raise... or more bonus!...

I-phone can download streaming stock prices from SGX or not? I know it can download streaming US Stocks if you install the brokerage's softwares, right?
But playing shares during office hours is unfair to my boss since he raised the issue already and I think all staff must be responsible to stop playing unless off-duty or on leave.
Sacking someone for playing shares is a bit too much lah.
Why don't you buy an iPhone with data plan? Then you are not using company resources and your boss can't do anything.
