The story of X'mas is one of the most beautiful stories of symbology ever told to mankind by the ancients.

In the northern hemisphere of the earth, the event of X'mas is recorded to have taken place at midnight 0f 24th December. It is the story of the Sun saving the Earth and all life on it.

The ancient astronomers observed that in the month of June, the Sun starts it's gradual descent southward from it's highest point. As it  descends , it takes with it the life of the plant world, so that by December almost all of nature in the northern hemisphere has been stilled in the cold.  Should the sun continue to descend southward, all  nature would be stilled  unto death.

However, on December 25th , the Sun begins it's great move northward, bringing with it the promise of salvation and life anew for the world. As the sun rises higher in the heavens, man gains confidence and faith in being saved from death by cold and starvation. For he knows knows that as the Sun moves northward and crosses the equator, all nature will rise again and be resurrected from it's long winter sleep. (The full 'ressurection' of life is celebrated in spring as Easter).

On the eve of this event of  X'mas, the constellation of Virgo (astrological sign of the Virgin) was rising in the eastern horizon. Thus it was recorded that this 'son' and saviour of the world was born of a virgin. It was also recorded that the virgin mother was travelling through the night. that she stopped at an inn and was given the only available room among  the animals  and there in a manger, where the animals fed, the shepherds found the Holy Child.

The animals with whom the Holy Virgin was lodged are the animals of the zodiac. There in the constantly moving circle of astronomical animals stands the Holy Mother, Virgo. and there you will see her every midnight of December 24th., standing on the eastern horizon  as the Sun and saviour of the world starts his journey northward.

This is the astronomical interpretation of X'mas, which all can particpate in.

Provided people in the China's also love minced pork during the lunar new year, local comsumption elsewhere is unlikely to impact much on pork prices... J

The story of species is worthy of a lifetime's attention.

But not the already obsolete Darwinian way, coz he was but a modern man during his time. If he were still alive, maybe he will, in the light of later scientific revelations,  readily agree... to discard his beloved theories of existence.

hehe... And tasty "Bak Gua" booms not only in the Pig's own years, but also in all years... of his other farm friends... thus bringing happiness to all.

By the way do you know why there are wild boars in the wilderness? My guess is that some of the original pigs created for  man's benefit somehow wandered away or escaped from the domestic vicinties of early man. They later had to fend for themselves in the wilderness and thus over the centuries evolved into the lean, rough and tough cousins they now are. The opposite may also be possible ie. the wild boars were first created for man's benefit then later evolved under agricultural cultivation to the present-day succulent and roundy bacon providers. But the question is which explanation is more logical? ... :)
