Do not worry lah. Next Q, or the longets to wait is Mar 2007, all mobile phone number can fully retain the number without subscribe to a new number and do a call forward, then it is a 100% number portable meanining you can switch ISP at a more convenience way. Then truly you can judge the % up or down of client base. Now is still too early to judge, by then maybe Singtel may give off new phones to retain client !

Kim eng released a report indicating that M1's subscriber base is shrinking it has fallen from 29.3% to 28.4% over the quarter. The future looks unsure as the local mobile market is already saturated with a penetration rate of 100.1%.

Till now, there is no adverse reports this morning about M1. Last Friday, Starhub suffered a drop of up to 9c  to 2.19. Has partially recovered. Starhub now is 2.24.

Common observations about both:  both are telecom, both enjoy good run up in prices in recent days.

Could it be profit-taking? And also buying opportunity at end of day when px fell further?   Well, i pick up Starhub last Friday. Well, enough for 1 week supply of kopi.

M1 is one of the top losers today. Anyone know why?

singaporegal, anyway, in case you need it, M1 current trades at about 12x forward P/E, given its guidance of single digit growth.

Not sure if any more special dividends to be given out, but assuming 90% payout rate, ordinary dividends would be about 16 cents or yielding a net 7.6% based on price of $2.10.

If markets turns for the worse, then interest might return to this type of defensive counter with high yields, fair value based on 7% dividend yield is $2.29.

May not be too late to go in. Its almost considered overbought but the TA indicators show that it might still uptrend some more. I think M1 is going to ex-dividend in early April and the payout is pretty decent. you might want to wait for it to fall a little more before going in.

M1 fell in the morning ... all the way to 2.20 and then climbed up to 2.29 again. I guess profit taking is happening now. But I believe the big boys are buying in while the rest are selling. Hopefully the price rises in the afternoon!
