water purchase agreement (WPA) to deliver desalinated water to the Dahej Special Economic
Zone (Dahej SEZ) in Gujarat, India has been finalised and signed with Dahej SEZ Limited (DSL).
The WPA between DSL and Swarnim DahejSpring Desalination Pvt Ltd (DahejSpring) will
become effective once financial close for the desalination project is achieved. DahejSpring is
the special purpose company formed by consortium members Hitachi Ltd and Hyflux Utility
(India) Pvt Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hyflux, for the development of the seawater
desalination project in the Dahej SEZ.
The WPA will be for a term of 30 years, including an estimated three-year construction period.
DSL is committed to purchase 100% of the water on a take or pay basis.

hi, are u aware of any nanotech developments that have been commercialized already?
currently i think membrane tech is the cheapest way for water purification. Also as world (especially china) living standards improved, their requirements of clean water will also rise.
I am have no idea where this counter is headed but I dont think membrane tech is outdated or that requirements for clean water will not increase in near future.

hyflux, just like semicond wafer makers, is a high investment industries, once they firmed up the technology they got to reap as much profit as possible b4 the technology is outdated n price driven down.
nano technology has come a long way n new methods r already been use in US n even china said they dont need so high tech so clean water in rural area.
many new coys with new tech (nano tech) have emerged driving down price of new water, therefore the profit margin is squeezed everytime....if i hold this counter i will let go. |
