5.20 seems to be the physiological support for the range play between 5.20 - 5.40 but if you intend to play the trend, last friday MAY BE your last chance taking in a decent profit on the uptrend before the price action retrace. ADX already shows upward strength weakness on 22 MAY fueled with D+ reversing downwards and D- going upwards. BRACE! BRACE! BRACE!
I hope I am wrong for those going LONG and hope I am right for those wanting to consolidate more at a retrace price. Big picture still showing an uptrend. :p
Agree... :)
Otherwise, navigating through the thread will be a real chore...
But sometimes, it can be treated as dressing or "chilly sauce" in an otherwise dedicated thread, provided only a little is used... :)
Hey Guys,
Can we keep posts on stock threads to news, info and opinions specifically to that stock?
For general chit chats on careers, likes/dislikes, hobbies etc, there is an excellent thread......'Fellowship of shares'.....to make your posts.
Thanks.
Hi 1402,
I don't have positions in Labroy, Semcorpmarine or ASL Marine. I had ASL Marine but had to let go due to margin call during the market crash. What a pity. But I have Swissco. Hoping it would win more contracts and make it a laggard.
I only have 2 stocks on cash.
jackson007, neither did i expect to start reading ST Money section, BT, FT, Bloomberg, CNBC, CNNMoney and most importantly i also didnt expect myself to be doing accountancy 2yrs ago.
Livermore, doing sales promotion for your counters or otherwise?
hmm the last price i bought 4D was like so long ago.
Oil and its related counters moving up again???? Well, seems the wind is blowing the direction again.
Last Friday London Brent crude, a more accurate indicator than US oil, went up to US$71.03 a barrel. US crude traded down 34 cents at US$65.43. Look at Labroy Marine, ASL Marine and SemcorpMarine. They keep winning contracts and their stock price keep going higher and higher.
Remember the error in DBS counter on Friday at $0.27? Well, today 4D consolation prize 2700. Hope that broker had bought that number and gain some confidence back, at least for the weekend! Poor chap!
1402, ISEAS is in NUS and they have many research article on energy and they got a book titled Energy Perspectives on Singapore and the Region. With you being vested in SPC, I am sure that there is a lot of drive in you to gain knowledge in that area. I do not know what is being offered in the school but you can certainly explore this and perhaps take up another course. The future outlook for energy and marine industries are very good.
Passion can do amazing things. I never watch CNBC in the past. These days, I watch them almost everyday.
chinkiasu, any direct advise for me?
i dont quite fully comprehend which area and comment you wish to imply because i'm lacking in "history of geojam".
i have always been a slacker throught pri, sec, jc, uni that i dropped out of NTU, i felt that was the choice i have made in my life other than the choice of sec sch academic wise.
hey jackson007, i think i rem the southeast asian studies block in NUS (was there to sell a prof my mp3 player), is it the same place you are refering to? remember that they wrote on book on oil industry not too long ago too.
oops, geojam.. I meant also note your punt on the engineering effort... I salute you for bothering to remember the associations of my vocation..
dear geojam, sir... no "suaning" leh, actual real & true respect sir.... i understand it very well as one who has gone thru the school of hard knocks...
but 1402.. I really wish you well.... we need more true singaporeans like you to carry on & show the flag...
CKS
hahah....that was a good engineering effort to "suan" an old man....
This stock's performance shows that those who are long-term investors can benefit by the eventual rise (or recovery) of a good stock.
It went from a high 6.05 to a low of 4.04, then now it again seems to be heading back to the 6.00 level.
I see crude oil price staying high for the next 10 years.Maybe even 20 years
1402, Since you are already into oil maybe you can consider expanding your knowledge in Energy. With all these boom in oil business, there is a big shortage of qualified professionals in these areas. Try ISEAS (Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, Singapore).
Ideally I hope that you can pick up oil trading knowledge and skills and share with us about this.

good choice of career 1402: but one little advice from a "lao chiau"
in the school of hard knocks... you got to do your homework, and no short cuts leh if you want to do well... and also, listen to folks like geojam... you can really learn from him even though he claims to be "sec 5"...

i meant accountant-to-be
chinakiasu, i account-to-be leh, still doing ACCA.
