Singaporegal would probably say...

"Looks to be on the downtrend/uptrend"... or

"Bollingers are squeezed tightly into a tight and tiny waistline"... or

"Caution, uncertain"... :)

thanks Singaporegal for the feedback re Andana.. I will let the boss know...

actually, Ipunter nowadays... a rented premium size car is best... comfortable relaxing drive plus most developed countries have good motor inns...

however if you are in countries like East Africa then you must have a high clearance SUV such as GMC Yukon, Toyota Land Crusier... a caravan would leave you completely stucked and stranded to be eaten by lions & hyenas.....

Hi chinkiasu,

I have gone to Andana spa before. It was a nice environment but I found the massage too short. Only 45 mins if I remember correctly.

Hi chinkiasu, geojam and colorado,

Thanks for the posts about the caravan. Yikes... changing the toilet contents sounds absolutely gross.... maybe not a good idea afterall. But are there caravan services for rental? hehehe... then not so bad.

actually ah, Singaporegal and Geojam... if you are serious about the travel in caravan... while it may sound so adventureous and free i.e go anywhere you want to etc.. consider this that in reality you often have to camp in caravan designated places where you can get your supply of water etc.. also someone has to change that (smelly) bucket.. so unless you have a volunteer like perhaps Geojam to do it, Singaporegal... I think not so brilliant idea really...

Hi Elfie,

Thanks for your thoughts about UIC and apologies for replying this late; this thread sure moves like a cheetah!  Anyway, I like what you said about not having to prove who is right and wrong, I guess, at the end of the day, it is to make money.

I'm lying low at the moment and just monitoring the situation before making any move but UIC is still on my radar.  However, I forgot to ask you why you want to exit and lie low by Oct this year.  Care to enlighten?

Singaporegal,

I just got back from down under and had a great time driving all the way down south.  I saw several caravans at the park and they look real interesting.  However, I'm not too sure about the comfy level when it comes to the bed though.  I also heard that it is not that easy and safe to drive one as it is top-heavy.  I heard from my friend that it can be a problem when the wind is strong and you don't have experience handling such a vehicle.  So far, I've always rented a 8-seater to move around but was told that a sedan is the safest, like the Ford Falcon.

Sibu is the gateway to the mighty Rajang River and its vast hinterland. As the main commercial centre and port for the Rajang Basin, Sibu is the starting point for one of the world's great river journeys. The second largest town in Sarawak, Sibu is situated on the confluence of the Rajang and Igan River, 130 km from the South China Sea. It is a thriving, modern town dominated by its bustling and crowded waterfront.

Sibu picture Sibu's wealth and fame are largely due to its enterprising, hard working Foochow community, who arrived in Sarawak from Southern China during the reign of Rajah Charles Brooke (1900 - 1917), and the town is still frequently referred to as "New Foochow". Nowadays, however, Sibu's populaton of 180,000 is a colourful mix of Chinese, Malays, Ibans and other ethnic races. Each race takes great pride in its own traditions and customs, but racial harmony and unity are the norm here.

Sibu is to the NE of Kuching (about 1/3 the length of Sarawk from Kuching.

I think it should be kucing (meaning cat, old spelling kuching, note also the name of the capital of Sarawak) kurak (spelling not too sure, indicating must get a Malay dic for myself).

jerome, last time when i did a comparison for travel insurance and deduced the following: mitsui- quite cheap, aig- claims very "easy" (if any) bt one had to pay a premium for it la, ntuc- average, oac- not so competitive, tenet- heard that it good bt never try them before..

can anyone advise me on travel insurance?

what to look out for?

which is the "best"?

I realise that this is going to open a can of worms, but perhaps the basis of comparison is whether the coverage is adequate and yet the premium is affordable. i.e. Value for $$$. Also if really suay suay kena something bad, which ones will be damn difficult to claim, or argue over the amount with you til you pek chek?
