Yes

Sept TCT in US should have very good clinical trial results and 2nd qtr income should be very good with higher sales and net income.  Also, once US pull-out complete BIG should be able to release income tax reserve that will increase income and retained earnings.  Don't know whether enough to counter all negative news.

NEWS RELEASE

BIOSENSORS RECEIVES SINGAPORE’S AWARD

FOR MANUFACTURING EXCELLENCE

Singapore, 26 August 2010

Into its fourth year, MAXA represents the highest level of recognition to outstanding Singapore-based companies that have achieved world-class standards for manufacturing and innovation. The MAXA Growth Award is given to fast-growing manufacturing companies that demonstrate manufacturing excellence, innovation and sustainability and BIT is the first recipient of this coveted award.

"We are honored to have received the prestigious MAXA Growth award, which recognizes Biosensors’ manufacturing excellence among a group of world-class manufacturing companies," said Mr. Jeffrey B. Jump, President and CEO of Biosensors. "As a leading medical technology company, Biosensors is totally committed to producing innovative, high-quality products that help extend and improve the quality of life for patients around the world."

The BioMatrix drug-eluting stent systems are the first to offer a unique combination of an innovative anti-restenotic drug, Biolimus A9™, a biodegradable polymer and an advanced, highly flexible stent designed for enhanced deliverability. Since its commercial launch in April 2008, BioMatrix has received strong market acceptance and sales have grown rapidly across more than 70 markets around the world.

The clinical and commercial success of the BioMatrix stent family is supported by Biosensors’ commitment to manufacturing excellence. As the center of excellence and the only manufacturing organization for the Group’s interventional cardiology products, BIT has consistently delivered high quality products and exceeded customer expectations in service level, while at the same time reducing costs.

"Biosensors has built an outstanding team of talented employees with a shared commitment to improving treatment options for patients and their doctors. Receiving the MAXA Growth award is a recognition of that commitment and of the dedication of our employees here in Singapore and around the world." Mr. Jump concluded.
- Biosensors International Group, Ltd. ("Biosensors" or the "Group", Bloomberg: BIG SP) announced that its Singapore manufacturing and operations hub, Biosensors Interventional Technologies Pte. Ltd. ("BIT"), has received the inaugural Growth Award in this year’s Manufacturing Excellence Award ("MAXA"), Singapore’s highest honor for companies with manufacturing excellence. BIT produces the Group’s interventional cardiology products, including its flagship BioMatrix™ and BioMatrix Flex™ drug-eluting stents ("DES"). Its interventional products are used to treat patients suffering from coronary artery disease, a serious and potentially fatal condition that affects hundreds of millions people worldwide.

it seem to me that overall the stock is still in a uptrend. The pattern look like an ascending triangle (continuation of an uptrend). it has still high chance that the stock will rise

TA wise, Biosensors is clearly on the uptrend, but it does so very slowly due to the narrowing of the Bollinger Bands. Upper Band of BB is breaking upwards and if it does a gap up in price, then good news for shareholders to see their investment grow. Short term MA moving upwards toward the longer MAs and just waiting to be crossed.  Big move in imminent after dinging donging around the 80-83 level.  If it moves up and closes above 83.5 cents, then a good chance for it to spike.

There is no such as "TA works, or doesn't work"...

It is just like saying "A map works, or doesn't work".

Of course countless people will create all sorts of favourite  theories

in efforts to make the map 'work' their way...

                    hehehe... Smiley

Agreed, TA doesn't really work for this counter, almost always driven by events.  I've watched BIG for a long time and every time their news coincided with a market downturn.... some kind of a-luck if you ask me... However, I'm still very surprised by the huge volume if it was due to the Taiwan approval...

I follow BIG for a long time also.  Surprising Taiwan event did not encourage analysts to revise their reports.  Have not seen much from them since announcement.

I agree with your analysis re: FOREX because FOREX and many other counters have a large following (institutions / businesses and individuals) and large volume but do not know if it would apply to BIG which seems to have a very small following (individuals pirmarily) and very low volume.  This stock seems to be event driven and does not seem to have attracted big players.  I hope new management can get some of the institutional / fund investors interested, if not we will have to wait for the next BIG event.

Sell Vol < Buy Vol ...

Lesser ppl are willingly to sell than ppl to buy. When buyer vol is more, price will increase back??

If this happens in my forex chart,

I would have immediately opened a short position

Because it is probably going to be a meaty ride... Smiley

I am not much of a technician so, please explain what one should expect now that it has closed above it's resistance level and then gone back down to close just beneath its resistance level.

thanks

On Wednesday, Biosensor gap up from the support at $0.795 and closed at $0.81 with HIGH volume of 6.56 million shares traded.

A doji star occurred (where a doji gaps above or below the previous candle).  This often signals a reversal with confirmation occurring on the next bar.

Both RSI & MACD are turning bullish as MACD about to perform a “golden cross”

Important Resistance of Biosensor: $0.825

Immediate Support of Biosensor: $0.795

Currently prices are supported by the technical / 50/100/200 days MA at $0.795

As seen from the charts, Biosensor has been forming an bullish pattern “ascending triangle” since Mar10.

Any breakout above $0.825 will be considered a bullish signal for Biosensors.

SEE ANALYSIS FOR COSCO

We would advise investors to keep a look out if the major resistance at $0.825 can be broken at high volume for buying opportunities.
