when u trade short term, u dont really entirely look into the future prospect of the company (note the word entirely, u need to believe in the future prospect of that company to ensure that sh*t doesnt happen to that company, look at china gaoxian for an example)

this kind of news is almost as good as securing a contract... which means come monday there will be a gap up..prob at least 3-4 cents

after 1-3 days, traders (speculators) will forget about this letter and when profit taking starts coming in, this stock will plunge/correct depending on the situation at tat time.

tat's also the time when ppl start to shooot..

And plus the fact that it is turnkey EPC is a vote of confidence that Cosco has the capability to pull off complex and high-valued contracts, which  can bring in  much higher in profit margin than the traditional bulk carrier  ship  building. And the part about not having any material impact on the earnings? Of course the money will not be coming in by this year but in future since it is due for delivery only in 2013 and 2014....  But that US$1.05B  (if contract is signed) will add to the order book which is  the  main driver of Cosco's stock price..

 

You mentioned that you will " stick to charts and candles" , you are probably looking into the tech analysis portion of stock analysis and looking into the short term signs. Other people who looks into the value of the deal, looks into the cash flow (thus fundamental analysis). Warren Buffet uses fundamental, Martin  J Pring uses technical. Nobody's wrong... just like i'm sure your charts and candles does not make you money all the time. Use what works for you.... btw, i like cash flow, and i prob will want to long this stock cost Cosco is moving into a very niche and high profit margin segment market

What need to go up nothing can stop it..... Cross a few pip above 2.10 only signal an uptrend is fully intact....  This is why I call it special break... Many will remember Cosco....  BTW, price move up and down whether in  up or down trends....
