SINGAPORE: Mainboard-listed China-based shipbuilder Yangzijiang says its first quarter net profit rose 21 per cent on-year to 586.4 million yuan or about S$118 million dollars.
The improved performance came on the back of a 28 per cent rise in revenue to 2.67 billion yuan or about S$538 million dollars.
Yangzijiang says it delivered 10 vessels in the first 3 months of the year, compared to the 6 delivered in the same period last year.
Going forward, it expects to continue to receive new orders and secure year-to-date shipbuilding contracts.
With these new contracts and the changes in vessel type, the firm's total order book stands at $5.45 billion US dollars.
It says it has not witnessed any cancellation of order so far and does not expect any cancellation to its existing contracts. - AFP/fa
With this kind of situation TA or Fundamentals will not help. TA derives by make believe that certain action or incident will happen based on the previous pattern. Once the TA theory is accepted, what ever it predicts will come to reality. Because human has the tendency of herd mentality. One guy jumps and nothing happens, the rest will jump thinking that nothing will happen to him. This is why any TA theory sometimes work wonders because they have substantial followers to make it happen not because the theory is TRUE
