Agree... People who bet their shirts averaged down  on stocks like Goldtron, Chartered,  even Creative (Mr. Sim pl  pardon me...).

That's why due diligence is of utmost important. Always study the fundamentals of a company,  its long term plans, whether any competitive advantage over other competitors, etc. Or at least try to give a hoot about the good and bad news hitting the company and make your own judgement whether it would hurt the  long term prospects... Then buy  its stocks  with a good margin of safety.

These  are probably some of the  basic things  WB would do... so yes, I'm a WB wannabe, trying to emulate his success...  but of course, there will be unforseen circumstances, so if GAR really turns out to be a terrible company in disguise I will sell immediately...

Re: shoemaker:    " ... So I believe to win the game (your personal game, that is) the best bet is to  keep averaging down for a stock you have strong faith in. Ask yourself this logical question: wouldn't it be better to buy when prices and downside risks are lowered? Just my 2 cents..."

That is the sad reason why many people have committed suicide in the past (averaging down) ... Smiley

Results to be announced on teh 28th likely to be  strong positive. Do remember the period to be reported is up to end-December  2010 when the CPO prices hit record high. Also, Greenpeace effect has been forgotten already. What is likley to be effecting prices are plays by BB's to draw down for buy ups. Careful you do not get panicky these next few days because you may see buy-ups just before the 28th.

But as Shoemaker says, if you are real investors, nothing to worry about. On the other hand, contra players...... well, you were taking a chance anyway so nothing to complain about

You must not get me wrong too...

When I say I will only enter @.50,

that doesn't mean I expect it to drop to that price.

(For what you know, it may 'chiong up" from here).

What I mean is simply that I am being very strict (nasty mean)

                                with my bargaining price....  Smiley

In stocks, there is no such thing as 'bottom already'...

we must not try to be too smart when playing stocks.

If I am stopped out, I will not enter unless it drops to .50...  Smiley

May not happen. Price of oil hit past S$102.00. Last time this happened, CPO prices also shot up.

Also, results expected on 28th should be good. Possible dividend declared again.

I believe ur rationale is 0.65 could be the bottom already. But in case u are wrong and falls below the support at 0.65, it could fall further to 0.62 which is why u cut loss 1 bid below the support. As u always taught us, entering at the right price is more impt than any.

You must note that it is not a matter of 1 bid or any other margin...

What is more important is one must have a good

rationale for entering at a specific price... Smiley

I believe ur bet at 0.65 and cut loss 1 bid lower is pretty safe. Learn something from u everytime. Thanks Sifu.
