busy with wk today but thought i'd pop in for a break.

huatah ok?

tanglinboy: carnage can be defined in monetary terms perhaps. outflow of funds from spore was 4.3bil last few weeks. a further 8bil is expected to leave spore. all foreign funds. consider that 75% of sgx is owned by foreign funds.

that's what i mean when i say it's about the global flow of money, and fundamentals have got nothing to do with anything--except recovery, when ppl choose what to buy.

so really, no hurry to enter ANY counter. Just sit fast and WAIT to hunt the good blues, nice and slow.

don't get obsessed with price targets, people. follow the trend.

PS: huatah, am very glad you ran jade and ellipsiz yest. chins up! :)

The issue is .....where is the bottom???

With all the indices in the red all over the world, the downward pressure is mounting and SGX and S'pore STI cannot withstand by itself.

Closing at $8.80, nice number, but not to many as SGX has been short down drastically.

Technical experts, any suggestion.

Previously, the bottomline suggested is at $8.50, but now that scenario is getting worse by the day, how much lower can it get $8.00 or $7.80????

Elf may be right. SGX and many lovely blue counters will open tomorrow with gap down. It depends on the degree of the open gap. usually than not, if the gap is considerable small, it will tend to close the gap upon opening trade in the morning. Here you may like to take the gamble and LONG it until it closes the gap and exit immediately. This is bcos when gap is filled, it usually will reverse and continue its downtrend. So dun get caught in it as thinking the buying up will continue and lift the stock price higher. To LONG a counter in this bearish mkt sentiment requires courage to do so. And REMEMBER put a stop loss, no matter what happened. If not, you will be running without your pants.

However, if the gap is too big, dun bother to get in at all cost. This will usually go deeper as there will be lots of panic selling. and more selling will cause it to go deeper. At some point, there might be a rebound, a small one, but usually is shortlived.

The scenario above is just my past observation and study of stock behaviour. It may or may not come true. Trade at your own risk.

yo, mister huatahhhhh *grin*

sgx likely to gap down on opening tmrw, but its intraday high may be above or near your buy px. depends on the severity of the gap down. but in any case, you may juz wanna run like the wind. no pants already, don't lose your shirt too. lol.

just fyi only ah. don't shoot the messenger!
