Emm.... maybe u right. Anyway if everything is predictable, we will be billionaire.

I have a TP for this babe that still yet to hit. Once hit may think of cashing it out.

It all depends on the economy situation when my TP for this babe hit. My long term maybe 2 to 3 mths only also. Longer abit maybe 2 to 4 years.

Hold stock for super long like 8 to 10 years is not my style of investment. I guess u know why too.

Agreed, we have to vest with care.

To conclude, let monitor NOL progress.................see which direction it goes..

Cheers.

Short term don't need to care whether it can remain profitable next year or 5 years time.

Long term investor better make sure they know what they are getting into. If you are getting in because you think NOL will surely turn around by this year and return to its 07 profit level and the share price will hit its peak of $2.50 (adjusted for stock split), you better think twice.

A lot of research needs to be carried out on the sector and its competitors. If their competitors are profitable (Maersk is profitable), then it might imply a much larger problem.

Emm should be short term investor that u are refering to.

Long term investor have no worry with its current price.

Current price still look ok to vest in fr long term.

Anyway let the monitoring begins................................

We can't talk the stock Up or Down. Let the reality show us the direction.

Cheers.

Don't just buy for the sake buying especially if you are a long term investor.

a) Research on the current state of the container shipping and why do you think the demand for consumer products will grow.

b) Freight rates have slumped due to over-capacity of ships. When ship builders start to fulfill their order books by 2011 and deliver new ships, wouldn't the problem be worsened?

c) Countries like China and India might start to manufacture their own products for domestic consumption or MNCs might start to shift production there. In that case, will the container shipping industry be affected?

d) NOL mentioned that they will be making heavy losses till 1H 2010 minimum. Is this the same for their fellow competitors?

Remind you, don't trade so frequently, once you lose the step, you will can't catch up with it or buy it at more higher price than you sold  it before. I have much more experience about it. if you have holding power, just hold it and don't trade so frequently!just my opinion.

Bought NOL @ $1.65 on Mon and sold it @ $1.81 on Thu .

Bought Cosco @ 1.28 on Thurs and sold it @ $1.31 sameday.

Bought NOL @ 1.76 today and still holding.

NOL set to sailing fast...

Cosco no new orders since mid 2008...

NOL still better buy as we can see the economy already recover and the ships start to sail.

Cosco have difficult time to get new order as the sea full with excess cargo ships.

NOL should be on its way to break the $2 mark.

Current economy recovery is helping in pushing its value high UP.

Previous Rights should be able to help NOL to contain any financial problem. This qtr, the result announcement most probably is positive one. Fr this, let see........n monitor.

Hopefully NOL provides path forward fr better revenue in it coming qtr announcement. That will further make its investor more confident.

To be frank at this price, its still quite cheap to get. Remember its record high is above $6.

Alot of people who hasn't enter must be hoping for NOL to drop to around $1 to $1.30 (a rough gauge) to collect. But u think will it happen???

Maybe, only if economy turn bad again. Maybe if stock start to drop when government start to withdraw their financial support. N they are quite possible only when mid year comes. Now the possibility is quite low.

Let keep monitoring................

Cheers.

Same here Bro.

The 1.50 TP by analyst starts to make sense haha!

I think it is over-priced now. If their losses continues to expand, their share price will tank. There are better shipping laggards out there - STX PO and Mercator Lines.

Only vested in Mercator

elysian      ( Date: 09-Jan-2010 11:26) Posted:

Thanks for highlighting this point. I was on the verge of accumulating NOL ard 1.80 thinking that it was trading at a huge discount to its peak. However, this misconception is now corrected . :-)

This serves as a lesson for all to do more research before investing our hard earned $$$. At the current price, and with the current state of the Container industry, I think NOL is over-priced (at 1.80)

It's okay to buy if you are doing momentum trading. It's going up right now, just ride on the wave and sell when the wave is over.

Lastly don't be fooled by its peak of around $4.50. It did a 1-1 rights issue a year ago hence its adjusted peak is around $2.30.

NOL is huge :)

But being huge has its disadvantage - like in a crisis they are making so much losses, any changes or counter resolution will take some time ..... Imagine a giant turning around.

Good luck to those who vested
