it was discussed "vehemently"....
To be honest, the moment that the 20% discount and 20% share issue resolution was voted down and the rights issue resolution approved, I was on a buying spree of achieva shares the next day for a solid 7 trading days. 6c to 8c and the moment the 4c was announced, 9c to 12.5c.
Of course I cashed out the higher price ones ie 8c onwards but those bought 4.5c to 7.5c. Kept it in stock.
Now waiting quietly for the paid out date.

Those new to the market who chase after the share from 13cents onward will get stuck... Chasing after div ann this is what usually happen... Struck with shares that do not fit into your portfolio.. A basket of unwanted stock...
(Do not apply to long-term investor and those who do homework waiting for situation to happen season investor)

It must be noted by all forumers here that sometimes a resolution can be voted against in an agm or egm or sgm.
Like the case of Achieva, where the shareholders voted against issuing shares at a discount, I really interested to know whether the resolution was disccussed "vehemently" at the meeting.
Can someone who attended the meeting care to give some background information? We all can learn and in future vote against a resolution if not beneficial to everyone and the company as a whole.
Not vested in Achieva and not thinking otherwise at this moment.
I was so sad when the price didn't fall ...... (One of those very rare occasions that I want a stock price to fall)
was out the whole day and didn't see market. saw 9c and I was "SHIT!!!"
LOL...
had the resolution for price discount for new share went through, we wouldn't be seeing the market action...
potential buyer has to now go to the market to buy shares. Once they mop up the freefloat from the public, I'm sure the rights issue will follow pretty soon....
Like I said, follow the RTO of Ezyhealth with Wilmar injected in. Peter Lim was the one that organised everything. Same path. RTOs are pretty standards in the way they restructure the shares to gain control.
Those who understand this will know what I mean.
Anyway, for the layman...quiet days ahead for the next 21 days till after the payout date.
Once the share goes down below cash value...I'm be wacking the shares like hell.....
common.. keep going down!!!
Glad to know that Achieva is giving you good returns which I am vested too.
I understand and agree the big boys' wealth creation through financial re-structuring. Achieva RTO story has been around for a while and does not seem to gain much traction lately.
1 for 1 rights issue resol was passed in recent AGM but price discount for new share was voted down. The BOD is sending conflicting signals if indeed financial re-structuring is in the pipeline. Would lke to hear your take on this ?

not necessary. I'm just familar with corporate finance matters & understand them.
I use it a lot in evaluating my buys esp the bigger ones. U find that the big boys create wealth through corporate shares structuring as oppose to the ah beng traders/ syndicates.
If one is patient and take a longer view, it can be very financilly rewarding.
Achieva for me has been a 1yr love story.
I traded it in in 2007.....follow it when they sold their core biz.
Coy was flushed with cash. Balance sheet clean. It was a target for a RTO
I just bought some for the capital reduction. and hope there were signs of a buy up of the list co shell.
It seems to point in that direction judging from the AGM resolutions passed and looking at the way the market has reacted.
Victorian2, it's interesting to read your advice as you seems to be so confident and clear which leads me to believe that you probably have privy to privileged information. Is this a fair statement ?

tks 4 yr sense of humour and lighten our otherwise boring day. cheers!
like I said before
My advise is not to trade this counter. Just locked it up somewhere. treat it like a FD deposit for 3-6mths. Throw away the key. You will be very please with the outcome.
I've traded some ie those that I bought at 8-12c.
I kept the 4.5-7c.
My cost after ex-div is 0.5 to 3c. Now trading another 9.5c, I get another 1c profit. But i'm not interested in the 1 -3 c profit. I'm interested in the 20c profit for the next run.. and take potentially another pay out of 3c in july or aug after they announced 2nd quarter results.
And of course, my broker isn't exactly very happy with me.
LOL
