SINGAPORE : Mainboard-listed logistics services provider CWT said it is investing US$2 million for a 35 per cent stake in trade financer Westford Trade Services (WTS).
Westford Investments Limited is the other existing major shareholder of WTS, also with a 35 per cent interest.
The remaining 30 per cent share of WTS will be reserved for allocation as option shares to key management and a business associate who facilitated the joint venture.
WTS' primary focus is in trade finance services, undertaking transactions in a secured structure for a selected range of product sectors.
CWT said the investment will strengthen its commodity logistics capabilities and extend its network in the business.
It added that it foresees great synergies from the joint venture as WTS will stimulate new commodity logistics activities like collateral management services. - CNA /ls

Any news on this counter, big jump in vol. and price...
Report from Daiwa.
CWT has announced that it has sold its interests in management services related to Cambridge Industrial Trust. CWT should net $7.7m in profit from the total cash sales price of $9.2m. We had not factored in this profit to our earnings forecasts, but will issue an update on our earnings forecasts,
We reiterate that CWT has significant hidden value locked in the company. The stock trades at a significant discount to its property portfolio RNAV, which means that investors get the core logistics business, six already announced warehouse developments and the company’s large land bank for free.
CWT looks for business opportunities in M'sia
CWT, a logistics firm, yesterday said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Tamadam Bonded Warehouse Bhd to pursue and develop logistics business opportunities in Malaysia.
It said a joint venture company will be established to undertake logistics projects developed in Malaysia.
Tamadam owns and manages storage facilities as well as provides distribution and delivery services, among other things.

Total Div payout of 19 cents? But why?
That's a lot, judging from current price, Yield is about 20%.
I'm gonna look a closer look at this coy.
total is 19 cents are correct. It stated this year is only 2 cents. the other 17 cents aldy paid in the 2007.
So must learn to read the financial report carefully.

SGX website shows final div 2 cents only. So lame. Dont know where the figure special div 14.02 cents and 19.02 cents come from, and when is it paying it.
