Hi fairygal....I am fine.thanks.
Hey hey geojam, long time no hear from you! So glad to "see" you back!
S'poregal,
Ya, life is like this in Singapore. Time passes fast, day by day, week by week. Sometimes, it's getting so stressful, and you wonder what's the meaning of life. However, looking around the world, I guess we are indeed very fortunate to be living here. We have everything basic, and we choose our lifestyle. Each lifestyle has its own price tag - the level of stress. Then we get to travel the world, anywhere as long as you work hard enough to fund it. The bottomline is: It's how you make your daily life more meaningful. Travelling backpackers way, and still lugging a laptop (for office matters) on the back is no funny matter. so, here's some ******pixie dust**** to brighten your day, and may you find some relaxation and peace today.
Singaporegal,
Major cities in other parts of the world are also having the similar hectic lifestyle. But the 2 main difference, I feel in Singapore compare to other countries, are the personal space & the respect of one's private life given by the employer, especially after work.
Because of the dense population here, everywhere u go the distance between u & the next person is of maximum about 1m, whereas in say NZ, the average distance is about 3m. One will definitely feel frustrated while walking on the street. In addition, the employers usually wont call their employees after work or during weekends. The respect of private time with family is priority.
Here, its completely the reverse. Your employer will sms u on Sunday to remind u there is a meeting on Monday morning.
Hi Uncle geojam,
Thanks for the offer. I'll contact you if I'm going to Perth again.
Hi Manikammaniko aka iPunter,
Nah... don't like fishing... I get seasick.
zhuge_liang, you have now a few peers within SJ. Just came across a zhugeliang74, there is a LiuBei, there is your arch rival zhouyu . We still missing guanyu, zhangfei and caocao.
hi sporeagal
U are welcome to come and stay with my family for a couple of weeks when my house is completed next year.
Will share with u my experience of fresh air and relax lifestyle...hahaha.
Singaporegal... :)
Maybe you can come to my small yatch this weekend for some fishing...
Just kidding...

For yahoo finance, all the SGX's counters' last done prices are 15-20min delayed. But STI index is realtime (the Index iteself). You can confirmed by seeing the last done time for individual counter e.g. GlobalTest
Same for teletext? 20 min delayed.
Hi chinkiasu,
Yah... I'm quite sick of the hectic life in Singapore. Rush here rush there... work like a dog. And when it comes to weekends, besides shopping, food and movies, I dunno what else to do. I'm not exactly into the night scene and don't like parties.
When I go to aussieland or other places, I feel so envious..... big wide open spaces with beautiful scenery. Can go mountain trekking, boating or just explore around.
I suppose the only 'live' information is instantaneous only if it's from the exchange itself...
... others will need to 'route' it, thus result in delays. ...

jerome, oh issit? as i always saw the "applet" running as the numbers get highlighted every now and then... dat y i tot it "live".. paiseh to all for the wrong info...
RT and Baseerahmed,
the quotes from yahoo is at least 15 mins delayed...
baseerahmed, i dunno whether it is actual live or not bt you tonight try finance.yahoo.com
rogue_trader : how do u watch "live" dow jones ? I watch it on www.livecharts.co.uk
synnexo : the 'downloading movies' info was actually given as an example of what the size of 5GB is by the staff ... actually i am not a movie person and therefore "illegal" issue is irrelevant to me ...up to today my usage is ,the meter reads , maybe 2.4GB
haha, rogue CBA "coming back to owner"...

in my opinions, volumes for today will be "lower" as compared to last fri, mon and tues.. some of the big BBs still haven't exited their holdings... sti might recovered a bit bt still in the red ba, i think. |
