GIC has made it move timely, so is capitaland. both are making news for the good of either both.

Capital Chairman is Dr Richard Hu Tsu Tau and the Deputy Chairman is Mr Peter Seah Lim Huat. The sole executive director is Mr Liew Mun Leong, who is the President & CEO

Just wondering will Temasick make such move..?. B4 she leave....?.

There's a change in very top management (BoD) in GIC with Dr Richard Hu retiring....

and as well in changes in Capitaland senior mangement level, heading the list of promotion is Ms Jennie Chua 65, Chief Corporate Officer (COO) of Capitaland

(President & Chief Executive Officer The Ascott Group, but will remain as a board member)

Bull or Bear , i think Temasek employees and Board of director still win.. I am wondering how much bonus they will be getting?? Or none??? Can someone shed some light..

For good performance, they say they dun lose as much when guage against certain Stock indices or Hedge Fund.. Hmnn... do we consider that as good performance. Citi CEO getting paid $1 per annum until it return to profitability.. Can Temasek CEO do that also, until u make back all the losses then can be paid for the performance.. ( Sure will come up with some excuse, like this is not the way to do it we have to think long term) We have to retain talent in case they run to other companies... It is ok to lose a few billion as we are looking at a very big recession. These talent invest when bank stocks are at their high and sell when they are at their low. (So TALENTED) hee hee..

So that common investors can make some some money out of the bull run....

Since Temasick can off-load with three months...on the wrong footing

GIC can also buy into CITIGrp's, when it goes below 3.25 (their bench mark is set only at a low of US$3.25) and in a very good uptrench time...Citi can be sold for 32.5 when hitting cloud nine.

"even Warren Buffett lose money this time who are those scholars in TeaMassage compared with WB". The TeaMassage can be the Tea-messeger, so are those surrounding her and the chief..the chairman. teeth53 thot so. The chief is and must be accountable to the public.

WB is pure private funded money...Temasick is pure state funded money. State funded money mean exactly like US Treasuary Dept giving AIG US$180 billion and Citigroup's US$90 billion of US taxpayers money.

The outrageous exceptions, occurred at both AIG (AIG, Fortune 500), is now nearly 80%-owned by U.S. taxpayers, and at Merrill Lynch, massive style bonuses were paid last Dec to top traders and bankers B4 BoA took over for US$50billion, though Merrill lost $27.6 billion in 2008, took $10 billion in TARP funds and was Merrill is days away from a likely bankruptcy filing after Lehman declare bankrupty just one day ahead.

Temasick is extermely lucky not to shed tear only day away.

Sigh it is rather unfair to blame those TeaMassage ppl, even Warren Buffett lose money this time who are those scholars in TeaMassage compared with WB.  If these people are that good they can just invest their own money instead of state funds.  Moreover, they are so slow in reaction, again we cant blame them because ppl like us we can monkey in and out of market to earn kopi $$$ but those scholars cant.  They cant becos everyone of them are scholars they have to show ppl that they are damn cool and by keeping cool they showed that they are damn deep too and of cos being deep, common folks like us wont be able to understand their strategic moves.  And frankly many ppl dont really understand their "strategic moves".............

The global financial crisis has sent Temasek's portfolio value back three years to the level seen in March 2006, said Ho, who is the wife of Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, in a speech posted on Temasek's website on Thursday.

Red flag has rose and fallen on to muted wall of casted stone. Sold for a lost cause, to the tune of writing of several billion of dollars from our beloved Ms Ho. What next..???. what is the point of holding on...is that right when this biggest ship (BoA) still got plenty of pot holes to plug.

Can someone do a simple calculation how many schools and or hospitals we can built ?, or how many time those lost money can help to feed the poor ?.

teeth53 thot: This will be my estimation, between a 5 to 10 years times frame. GIC will be able to see it recovery on Citigroup as a worthy cause.

Today. teeth53 thot: When times to arrive for Citi to emerge stronger, it will be in S'pore blessing as a regional financial Hub and strenghtening Singapore as another world player, having play a critical role in strenghtening Citigroup, thus can see alot more players (banks and bankers alike) parking their $$$ here. Roubini on bottom 'U' -- the length of time the world economy will continue to contract -- would last a minimum of three years starting from December 2007. But he said there was a "one-in-three chance" that recession would turn into an 'L' -- a prolonged period of stagnation or shrinking output, coupled with falling prices as demand dries up. As early as 2005, US home prices were riding a speculative wave that would soon sink the economy, but was dismissed as a doomsayer.
