If you know the dividend distribution, mebbie you would like to determine if the dividend can help you square out your position after EX-DIV OR reduce your position loses when you cut your losses after EX-DIV. Then again usually after EX-DIV, price may be depress a little so it may not be a worthwhile exercise to wait for dividend all together.
Not sure if anyone has a better damage control plan.
remember shin corp, statschpac? they have a temasek link.. they win some and lose some. this might be again one of those that may loose.. temasek selling gencos and temasek link cityspring acquring them doesn't sound right to me.. anyway me still vested cos i think infrastruture is sexy biz.
like wat i mentioned earlier...

battledome64: tat is the only option isn't it? unless you wanna sell at a loss? the next quarter dividend hope to see good figures :)
i can hold but i cant afford to average down. What should I do? Wait for dividends?

I thought Temasek Holdings recent requistions wasnt too impressive too. 
can anyone tell me which counter is MIIF and CIT ?
casper: CS is only launched this year and less than 1 year old. i intend to give it time to prove it's worth before making any more action on this stock. MIIF, CIT used to dwell in very low prices also but as quarter after quarter of good financials show their share price has moved up. i hope CS will prove with it's results and not open mouth say will acquire this and that. prove us with action please :)
if unlucky, end up holding all the temasek mistakes...
This is an opportunity market.. so opportunity is always there...
How often do we see Temasek making a wrong move? So keep this counter under your pillow and wait for acquisition announcements... hopefully soon...

Pinnacle: i always pay up in full for all my stock purchases. so averaging down in order to sell off for capital gain is not on my strategy. i hv paid up so i hold on for the dividends payout then. how i wish CS won the tender for that 3 power companies govt is giving out but there will be keen competition i believe especially with MIIF also into infrastructure assets acquisition. all i hope is the Temasek link behind CS will give them an edge over other competitors? hahahahhaa i know ppl will say unfair tender but i hope hope only lar ok? :)
2 way out...
1) either you buy low and do price averaging, so able to sell off faster...
2) or if you have deep pocket, hold on to it... majority REITs are making capital gain as well as dividend now... treat it like high interest payout saving.. no bank can offer such high interest now... especially with low Sibor now..
There were no news of any new acquisition of assets either. Sounds pretty bad for the immediate future. This is my second paper loss stock for my entire stock portfolio :(
But I will neber cut loss cuz I still believe CS will at least continue to pay out dividends for next quarter.
I wonder if Warrent Buffet make losses too? I cannot believe a person who trade stocks neber make loss in their whole life?

Let me try to understand how the instituition players tink. I believe CS management get their performance fees in the form of extra units correct? If they wanna liquidate them shouldn't it be jack up the price so can earn more monies? Now wat we see is sell down. So strange strategy or unless they know in advance CS is not going to acquire any new assets under their portfolio for the coming quarter reporting?
