today is 18th day of a moon cycle. is a day with low tide lowest in a whole moon month. But the fall is not lowest in this moon month. hee...hee...
A few days ago, some mentioned that there was going to be a "readjustment" of the STI component stocks. Can this be it? If it is, then there's really nothing to worry about the drop.
Do you think it has anything to do with the reported readjustment of STI?
I have a feeling it is related since the drop is so 'unatural', all happening at the closing bell only.

The full moon which is now in operation for a few days could have triggered someone's nerves to do the selling....
no idea. But fin sector is one of them
Do you know which component stock contributed most to today's closing fall?
over 50 pts up on 5 Dec could be another contributing factor for today bigger correction.
Thanks maxsyn,
Hope you are right. I noticed quite a few counters are quite near their significant supports points.
If Mon. is not a panic day, all is well... and many will make $$$ coz they will be the ones who have bought at these points. Hope the Dow doesn't 'fail us' tonight by any freefall..

ADB lowered the growth rate in asia for 2007 yesterday.
Hang seng took the plunge yesterday and continue today but moderately.
STI followed today.
I think is a good correction reacted to the news.
Market primary is still uptrend.
maxsyn, what's your opinion on todays STI sudden drop at closing?

Yep... I just logged in to check the prices.. I'm caught off guard by the last minute sell off too. Wonder what happened...
Luckily I've sold off my entire portfolio before going for a break. Whew!
The last time I went on holiday, the stock market crashed and I couldn't enjoy my holiday at all!
Now, it all depends on how DOW performs tonight then we will get an indication of Monday's STI.
Since Wednesday, I liquidated some of my holdings to take some profits off the table in anticipation of some correction/consolidation.
Wow..last min heavy sell down
Thanks, knightRider, your news is really up to date. Lessons learnt, must look at the regional markets too.
The whole asia region, include Nikkie, HangSeng, etc all drop, just heard from CNA !
Anyone out there knows why most index counters suddenly drops, causing the STI index to drop by more than 17 pts to 2884.13 after 14:30hr or 14:45hr. Scary????? Suddenly the tide just turn bad ???????????
