teeth53 thot - Catch 22 situation..??. http://www.cnbc.com/id/100794455

mket pause? Or the start of a bigger downturn? That's ??? on  most investors  mind, after global equities dropped around 5% over past  2 wks on worries the Federal Reserve might curtail its quantitative easing (QE) program this year.

Views have so divided investors that even two men who share the moniker of Dr. Doom couldn't agree on the way forward.

DOW - Stocks hovered around  in n out of 15,000 pt......Dow Jones Industrial Average struggled for direction.

Nouriel Roubini, the bearish economist who called the financial crash of 2008 now says stock markets will rise for the next two years and that worries about the Fed tapering quantitative easing were premature.

But Marc Faber, also known as Dr. Doom, says although further stock market gains were likely, those gains should not be trusted by investors.

It’s pretty rare when every single component of the  Dow Jones Industrials  drops in unison, but when it happens, it usually results from a broad-reaching macroeconomic event. The catalyst for today’s 217-point drop in the average was worry about the impact of a tapering of Federal Reserve bond-buying that looks increasingly likely to take place in the near future. A lot will hinge on Friday’s reading on the employment front, but in many ways, investors are in a no-win situation. If Friday’s jobs number is strong, it will support calls for reducing quantitative easing activity, but a weak number will simply call into question the effectiveness of the entire strategy the Fed has followed for years.Hmmm...
