Yes, you are perfectly right there ...

Many are eagerly waiting to punt with their hard earned money ...

So when someone they respect says it is going to go up, they will jump in to buy, usually on contra.

But what the rookies don't realise is that when lagging indicators are used,
when the indicators show 'it's going up', it usually means it is ready to go down.
This is rather obvious and we don't need a complex formulae indicator to tell us that.
But the rookies will not know this, (though experienced traders will),
so they buy and then imediately lose $$$.
