I agree with raymondho. The support is around $2.57 cos this level has served as a resistance and support level for quite a number of occasions in the past. Any close below should result in a downtrend.I know many of us including me believe in a year end rally but i guess it is better not to do any prediction but just follow the trend. U can take a look at the chart i created here at the end of my post. Cheers ...

Support 2.57 had been formed on tuesday, I dun think it will drop further, the only confussing is why the amonut of divident till now has not released? This keeps investors hesitate to go further, but once the migrition of share between KE and SGX, for sure price in Singapore market will go up. How soon? hm...hm... let's pray for it. vested.

I think if you look at their FY earning for coming FY07, both counters make almost the same, about  more than 300 million US dollars. So STXPO might consider cheap, therefore the support is there.

i share de same sentiments wif jackjames.. no reason for NOL and STXPO or even YZJ to suffer to this extend.. yes... fear affects performance/share px.. but.. not to tis extend mah..

whenever i look at STXPO.. alamak..

there is no reason why NOL drop so much but not STXPO, so...

anyway, two new IPOs listed today might steer away those contra players attention.. they are lucky to list on the "green day" perhaps.

STX PO tested $2.59 today which is a crucial level of support. So it is either do or die. Either it rebound from here or once this support is breached, it will plunge.
I made a chart of STX PO @ http://www.traderstudent.blogspot.com/ .. Sharing my humble point of view :)

DJ MARKET TALK: STX Pan Ocean Korea/Singapore Arbitrage Soon -CS (2007-12-18 02:45:00)

0245 GMT [Dow Jones] Investors may be able to arbitrage STX Pan Ocean''s Singapore-listed (V33.SG) and Korean-listed (028670.SE) shares soon, but it''s not clear how much upside the move would bring for the Singapore-listed shares, says Credit Suisse. "Fungibility could happen as soon as early 2008," broker says in note; move will allow investors to buy cheaper Singapore-listed shares and sell them at higher price in Korea, should mean gap between two narrows. But Credit Suisse adds, "while the discount gap between the Singapore-listed and Korea-listed shares is likely to narrow, we are uncertain of the impact on Singapore-listed shares, noting that the Korea-listed shares have been generally trending down for the past three weeks." Singapore-listed shares currently down 0.8% at S$2.62; Korean-listed shares +1.2% at KRW3,000 (S$4.69). (KIG)

hullo. CFD = contracts for difference. It's a kind of margin acct where they allow you to buy long or short (most ppl will use it for shorting since you can use a normal margin acct for longs). Believe the trades have to be settled within a month tho. but anw, if you're a tech trader, one month is excellent already. just gotta do the reverse of your long trades, and sell on breakout downward, then ride it for the couple of weeks--eg, if you had shorted the china stocks like yzj (which was clear downtrend) from 2.70+ to now, it's a lot of $$. and in a way, 'safer' than an intraday trade, since you can ride out the intraday volatility.

it basically offers an option to make money in a downtrend market.

i haven't yet opened my CFD acct tho, so the more experienced traders like cashiertan and manikamaniko may be able to tell ya more abt it. i believe only phillips has it or something...

yah. that's called a covered short. try not to go nude. :P

One more.. if u dun mind.. lol.. wat's CFD accts really is??? guess me still not familar wif these terms... super super greenhorn.. lol..

hm. counters like stx po are actually good for trading (shorting or long) since its intraday volatility is high. so nickyng does have a pt here.

huatah: shorting is when you sell a stock you do not own. then you hope it drops so you buy back at a lower price, and thus make the dif btwn your sell and subsequent buyback. most shortists will cover within the same day. if you leave it open to the next day(s), it's called a naked short. juz ask your broker to do it for you. perhaps nickyng can elaborate better on this. haha. note not all brokers will accept shorts tho. depends on your rs with your broker...also, shorting is not allowed on some margin accts. better to short on CFD accts really. at least then you have a mth.

Shorting can be dangerous if you are not able to buy back the shares within the same day. As a conservative speculator...I believe in not taking advantage of those situation whereby the market falls. I also see the fundamental of the company and its overall performance. Be careful...like the fed rate...a lot people thought it will be cut further...but who knows...it only cut by a bit....not everyday is sunday. But at least interest rate is cut...expect people will borrow more to buy. STX PO is strong...shortist better go short other blue chips or shares....Smiley
