It is slightly higher it a newspaper reported it would soon launch the first mass-market Internet television service here, dealers said. In The Straits Times, quoting unidentified sources in the industry, reported that the Media Development Authority would likely award SingTel a license for an Internet pay-TV trial by the end of the month at the latest. The newspaper said SingTel's entry into the pay-TV market posed the biggest threat to StarHub, which has had a monopoly for 11 years.

Happened 3 days ago but it up for another 2 days. will it happen again this round?
It was higher in late afternoon trade on laggard buying as the broader market moved up today, dealers said.
UBS analyst Syed Al-Idid said SingTel was higher as telco stocks moved to catch up with the recent outperformance of other sectors.
"I think it's purely that the telcos have been lagging in the market compared to other sectors, so it is moving up," he said.
Dealers said associate Indonesia's Telkomsel's good set of financial results released yesterday also helped underpin positive sentiment for SingTel.
Telkomsel's sales for the nine months to September rose to 14.90 trln rupiah from 9.94 trln a year earlier.
SingTel will be reporting its second quarter to September results on Nov 8. Analysts expect strong contributions from its regional associates, although it is likely to be muted by the continued weakness seen in its Australian operations.
Syed expects the company to post a second quarter net profit of $803 mln compared to the $809 mln last year.

It was higher after its associate Bharti Airtel, India's largest private phone company, reported that its net profit for the second quarter to September rose 79% yoy to 9.34 bln rupees, dealers said. Among its regional associates, Bharti has been a key growth driver for SingTel.
SingTel will be reporting its second quarter to September results on Nov 8.
According to DBS Vickers Securities, SingTel's net profit for the quarter may rise 8% yoy to $815 mln as strong contributions from regional associates offset weak contributions from its Singapore and Australian operations.
Singtel is good because it has potential regionally. Starhub is good because it's strong locally.

The best of the 3 telco companies due to its ability to expand globally and managed an healthy cash flows. In this very competitive com- business, size really matter and if you don't expand int'lly you'll eventually be an also-run. Hopefully the new President can add more 'oomps' to the company that'll benefit Shareholders. Cheers!!!!!
PS. good dividend payouts policy.
I suppose that's good for the share price.
Just fetch $163M from selling of Robinson Road.
I find that Singtel is a choppy stock.
This is an exceptional counter in the sense that I find it difficult to perform accurate TA on Singtel. I think its due to the sheer amount of stocks that are available to retail investors. The signals are very confusing.
As far as I can tell, its on a short term uptrend now.
