xin lin...as long as you do your own homework...know what you are investing and whats your target. If YZJ win a 1billion contract tomorrow, analysis target will change the outlook again...

also said in the report. So downgrade to hold from buy but FV rises fr 1.76 to 1.90

As such, our fair value estimate rises to S$1.90 (prev. S$1.76).

If you bought YZJ in end June following the BUY recommendation risen by 28%, now they downgrade to HOLD and  its fair value estimate rises to S$1.90 (prev. S$1.76), so when are you suppose to sell ? Wait for them to release another report recommend SELL ? Like someone used to say: " We only do the introduction, the rest is up to you" and I like to add:" You will face the consequences".

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding: Downgrading on valuation grounds

Summary:

The share price of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (YZJ) has risen by about 28% (compared to the STI’s 7% rise) since we upgraded the stock to BUY towards the end of Jun this year.

YZJ has emerged relatively unscathed from the financial crisis since 2008 and has managed to capitalise on opportunities when these arise.

The group is well on its way to becoming a dominant player in the bulk carrier and containership segments.

However, what will propel it to the next level include :

1) intensifying its R&D efforts to expedite the development of new and innovative vessel types and

2) developing an offshore business.

We are raising our peg to 13x blended FY10/11F earnings (prev. 12x) to reflect the better company outlook and the greater number of new orders secured in recent months. As such, our fair value estimate rises to S$1.90 (prev. S$1.76).

However, given the limited upside potential, we downgrade our rating on the stock to HOLD purely based on valuation grounds.   (Low Pei Han)

It is overvalue due to the recent run up.

Especially when analyst says buy...be careful.... they are actually selling.
