I totally agree with "Gu Piao Da Jiejie" Singaporegal  about IT shows, COMEX, etc...

While the crowds push, shove and smell sweat at the exhibitions,
I would spend my time browsing at Sim Lim Square or Funan or Challenger Superstore
where the crowd would be much thinner than usual.

It's no big deal really to attend...
especially if one has perused the newspaper feature section covering the exhibition/s... Smiley

hi singaporegal, if you will to go to Sim Lim Square, it will be good if you have the names of the "more popular" shops on hand (meaning the best deals 1) so that you won't waste much time on searching.. and one more thing, some of the sales staff there are "over friendly" with their usage of language, lol... bt if i will to choose a "venue" for a laptop, i will go for those shops in Funan or the "boutiques shop".. anyway, good luck to your search for your laptop...

Hi esmiley,

I simply hate IT shows... they are so overcrowded with people. The last time I went to the IT show at the Expo, I had to park at Simei and then take an MRT to the Expo itself because the car park was totally full.

Hi all,

Thank you for all your feedback! I will go to Challenger to check out the latest models first before proceeding to Sim Lim or Funan. I am looking for a slim notebook that I can bring around when I travel.

cks, choohian,

Yep.  That's the one! Think I will treat it as a experiment on crystals. Think salt crystal: they do grow, don't they? (With all conditions fulfilled!) Hee hee! Thanks for the cited example. As a penny stock, price of the counter is very volatile. So, wherther is it going to be coffee money or school fees, we'll wait and see! Have a great weekend!

Thanks chinkiasu. I was asked to buy Delong at 17 cents. I didn't. No regrets, because I had other lucky picks. If you have read my posts. You should know where I made my coffee money ( salary ). Hehehe.

Dear fairygal, concerning consolidation - one good example is Delong H. For every 10 ordinary share you get 1 ordinary share (consolidated share). I forgot the price before consolidation. But let's say the price before consolidation was 31 cents, so for 1 cosolidated share the price becomes $3.10 cents. DelongH is today $3.90cents. There is a reason for consolidating shares. The share value become more attractive to instutional buyers, that is to raise its status as a penny share to a more valuable share. Hope I got it right.

cks,

Re Austrian pics, I will.  Give me some time. Anyway, on Hallstatt, it's very much  the same pic you got from Hallstatt website. I think most people took the pic from the same place.  And no matter how bad my photography skill is, with such scenery, it's foolproof! Hee hee!

Re share consolidation, think I will just leave my little investment with the counter and see what follows. School fees to see Mr Oei at work......hopefully a pleasant one.

$come$go aka $$,

Cks is right, migraine not from stock market, more like from the demands and expectations of other people who expect this and that from you, but then you only have limited time and hands, so called. It's like even at this middle age, you still have to learn how to say "No" diplomaticallly. Along the way, you try not to hurt people's feeling, but you yourself are troubled constantly by it.  Sigh! Think I should disappear over the weekend......and don't answer my handphone....or switch it off!

my dear Mani...

I think so.. re human side & human nature in jungle of life.... and so am I except for me, I would like to choose to believe or view that life is a jungle...  instead I can see there is order  and there are rules which one should not break.. and I am not a master of my life...

for example in East Africa, when a Maasai warrior sees a stray cattle, he believes it is his good luck and as such he has a right to possesss it...  but for me, I cannot take possession because I know someone has rear it and it had wandered of from the herd...
