Are you preparing to sell end of today, or keep till announcement date?

If sell end of today, not advisable to buy now, near 2.20 resistance.

It still feels like investors are jittery over outcome of QE2. So I am going to expect profit taking in the afternoon for STI.

GenSp is pushed up today by bullish news on MBS earnings. But given the UOB KH news with slight bearish tone for GenSp, plus overall STI sentiment, I do not think 2.20 can be broken today.

It will be good as long as price maintains at 2.18 or above. A break below 2.18 indicates lack of confidence for  GenSp 3rd quarter results.

so what you mean is hold 1st to enter? but then what's ur view in the aftn trade?

BullishTempo      ( Date: 28-Oct-2010 12:18) Posted:

Look at STI chart. Diving down at the moment. I won't enter a long position when STI is going down like right now.

i personally doubt so, however market can push very suddenly 1. if it were me, buy at 2.21 based on 2.20 wall, stop loss at 2.19 if the buy goes thru. gap up so strongly, although very bad but i hope it drops so i can enter again XD

This news has a slight bearish effect. So just take note. However the previous article posted stated that the gaming market could be worth a lot more than anticipated. So there is a greater pie to be shared with GenSp and MBS. Both will benefit.

Nov 11 is the announcement date. Keep your fingers crossed.  Smiley

Agreed, more or less it will reduce Genting SP profitability,Based on the given data and imo those who r still holding to Genting SP might consider sell it off before the announcement date and re-enter again when the price dips.

based on MBS revenue, it has a average of 3m per day from casino. as such it might actually eat into genting's earnings.

Marina Bay Sands 3Q suggests competition intensifies - UOB KH

UOB KayHian says Marina Bay Sands’ estimated 3Q10 casino EBITDA of about $278 million (after Las Vegas Sands 3Q results) “fell short of rising market chatter and expectation that MBS would pip Resorts World Sentosa this quarter.”

Notes, rolling chip volume at MBS of about $13.5 billion surpasses house estimates for Genting Singapore (G13.SG) of $11 billion, while rise in MBS’ VIP commission rates confirm view VIP segment competition intensified.

“In terms of share of Singapore’s 3Q10 casino business, we reckon that MBS would claim close to a 50% share of industry EBITDA and play intensity (total gross amount wagered in VIP and mass),” says analyst Vincent Khoo.

Adds, no change to house view Genting’s 3Q10 EBITDA will fall significantly on-quarter to $300 million-$330 million vs 2Q EBITDA of $513.9 million. Genting to report 3Q November 11; shares +3.3% at $2.20, fell 4.1% Wednesday.
