hohokit... :)
That's right... perfectly right!... this post should be highly rated!
The stock market is not for making easy money...
if you play just for fun, it is good... very good.
Always remember this and you will never be burnt, hurt or even wiped out...
I have a feeling DaJieJie (Singaporegal) agrees with me,
as I believe she enjoys playing the market... hehehe...

Some people who play the market is for fun just to have something in common to talk when they meet. They are fairly successful and do not need the money and they know that they cannot make big from it.
Ya lor only one and only one WB.

1402... I dun dare to see myself investing and making profit to buy luxury. I am a small player lah, that is why even forum chatting I choose here bcos it's FREE. Investing/punting is not my core income. My income comes from my day job/my career. BTW, you had been shouting lower lower each days but when SPC hit $5.25 you did not get in? Now the bus left without you, fret not, as the bus might turn around to pick you up!...16-20 lots can't buy you a car with it's fat divvy either. Do consider SERIOUSLY invest in yourself and stop wasting time here and dream of making big. be realistic. my objective, I believe most of the friends here are, that we have a sum of $$ but do not wish to let it idle in the banks, but grow it better. We do not have the intention to make that $$ to become the main source of our income, like Warren Buffet. How many WB can we make out in this world...none! Oh thanks for your advise on the property at 2010. I heard about it already, over supply by then. Well, by then I still dun have much cash to buy a house as I am still making kopi$$, not brave lah! Cheers and happy shouting.
idesa, pls dont jump into property market now though you feel loaded, get something in 2010.
idesa, i know 2 guys who have successfully applied warren buffett's theory to investing and their dividends from SPC alone can full cash a japanese saloon and a continental saloon. i state that i'm nowhere near their wealth but working towards it. that's partly why i'm amused at you guys moving in and out of SPC. btw those 2 guys i mentioned are still in their late 20s.
when the price is right, i intend to accumulate 16-20lots in SPC.
idesa168, stop pulling stunts, one day you will get hurt, my friend as a broker understands that only his clients that go long term make money, the short term speculators win and lose back.
yes, a set meal for 3, "da pao" one for you....I can e-mail you that..lol! I cannot trade tomorrow also. My trading limit hit the roof today, tomolo no credit liao. Rest lah, not every day a Sunday, be contented, we old man cannot run like the young horse. Cheers!
idesa168,
Thumbs up for the courage and nimble fingers. Glad to hear that you can buy a breakfast set for your family. Tmr I may not have any technical reasons to buy but prob stare at the portfolio and noticed its shrinking again if DJ hit the dirt.
I need to do more for my FX so may be posting less to concentrate for this week (gosh already mid august).
Old doesnt make will win in the market more then the young. Age is not a factor is the stock market as the MARKET is dynamic and constantly changing. Remember your worst enemy is your HABIT & EMOTION.
lol...kilroy, are you my worms! I was busy punting today. I promised not to dab into stock mkt but was tempted today. Well, killed a little here and there. Got my revenge back at the banks and you know what today I chun chun slotted in MANY lots of SPC at $6.15 and exit at $6.25. I love my move today as SPC was trading at my low entry price and high at my exit...yes, kopi $$ in pocket as I did not want to hold overnight, i heed your advise (intraday), thanks anyway, SPC shd see red tomorrow since the overnight crude price is not so rosy.
I entered F&N last friday and left it over the weekend...brave huh. Today I very fat, here made a little there made a little. I am very contented with my little profit, humbly!
1402, investing is not what written in books and we can follow the formula. Lots of factors will affect buying and selling decision. We all read from books formulas, which applied by different gurus. And these formulas may not work in all situation. Now you argument on investing on values, and SPC deemed fit. Are you going to hoot very big now? I dun wanna be a hero in this kinda of sentiment. I think I would prefer branding me a coward....a CASH RICH coward. BTW, I am not investing lately, just pure punting, like what you said, kopi $$. But today my kopi $$ is fat, can bring my family for a holiday. Cheers, happy shouting!
Young or old... all will lose in the end if they play big in the stock market...
If they play "kachang puteh", they can then boast of making money...hehehe...
if some ppl are wondering why i sound a little rude, trying looking at other forums on SPC, there's a difference in thinking in both threads, they are seriously long term investors there.
idesa168,
I took advantage of the market sentiment and a gamble despite market jittery and bought some since support at 5.25 looks 'rock solid' and indicator reversing upwards. Volatility is great so employ an SELL on RALLY today (actually more like I didnt like holding the 5.25 price) so its back to square one - NIL holding for SPC. Wanted to SELL Singtel too at 3.56 but it never came. Sold ComfortDelgro which I bought on last week as well. Took profit stop for Ascendas India ReIT at 1.37 sometime back else kenna hack. Surprising it went back up and I miss the boat departing this time. Didnt type much today with all these trading. You must be busy too huh? Knowing your kopi $$ style. :)
So for SPC, its purely a technical entry and emotion exit for me. Based on the technicalities, I think SPC may go higher since the CCI is only mid way thru its course.
hohokit, young ppl respect ppl with substance, but got nothing to look up to towards the average joe.
idesa168, isnt your point of view "playing shares".
was it you are chinkiasu who wanted to buy a Ben Graham or Buffett book for his child? didnt they mentioned that buying stocks should be treated as buying a part of the company, once the price gives you a safety of margin, proceed. instead of chasing after the market, guessing the market's next move?
Kilroy, did you managed to get some when SPC traded down to $5.25 which was your target you mentioned? Well, if you did not, you may get a second chance. When oil up but mortgage woes, SPC went nose dive. Down DOW uncertain in direction and oil down, I am afraid we will see red tomorrow.
Now the fun part is here. If SPC drops like mad to $5.20-$5.40, I am sure no one will dare to touch it. Those at the side line yearning for SPC to drop so that one can get in cheap, but the irony of stock mkt is, when the price drops to the bottom, one may think there might be another bottom. Hence, he will still be at the sideline. You get what I mean? A little green is better than seeing a big RED.
Young people please be humble don't be carry away by a bit of success you have a long way to go.

One must always pat one's back when one makes a bit of money...
Otherwise, the next time there may be no chance to do so... hehe...
i'm just amused at how some of u old men invest in the market.
at one moment saying SPC has good prospects, and another moment selling cheap.
i state my position again, i divested 10 lots at 5.80 before school reopened wanting to concentrate on my studies, i was so wrong about the concentrating part, whats wrong with me wanting to get back in at sub $5?
u pathetic old men amuse me.
Better then being in the RED right? :)
1402, your shouts got someone buying at 5.25 and now rejoicing. So I am not sure what the fuss was all about. A value company will always be a value company. I hope you got some too. :)
