What's in the Wall Street bill? Wall Street reform:
By Alexandra Twin, senior writerMay 21, 2010: 5:36 PM ET
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Stocks ended higher Friday, finding momentum at the end of a very choppy session in which concerns about global growth vied with investor willingness to scoop up shares beaten down in the recent sell-off.
But selling earlier in the week left the major gauges lower for the week, with the Dow and S&P 500 both down around 4% and the Nasdaq off around 5%.
Stocks fell again in the morning Friday, dropping below the lows from the early-May "flash crash" -- in which erroneous computer trading sent the Dow down by almost 1,000 points, before it recovered near the close.
Hitting those lows again Friday seemed to bring in some new buyers, with market pros using those earlier lows as a good point to tiptoe back into the market. But the advance Friday was never especially robust, with stocks seesawing through the session.
never mind.

I don't think so. It may look slightly stronger next week but the direction in the EU will still be downwards.
Economies are not like stocks where the rebound can occur due to a single piece of good news. Economies take a lot of time and effort to change direction. Trends can last months.

Thanks! I'm around but seldom post now because of work.
Also, when the market is very volatile like now, I would avoid trading because things can change very fast.

Strong gut feel that market downturn is over. Next week it will rebound strongly. EU problem looks containable , China was strong last Fri as cooling measures were held back, US bank reform agenda looks clearer now....
Usually people put in more than that...
(eg. double the amount they have lost)...

Right now you have only 2 choices.
1. Cut Loss. Which could be a bit too late, the market may turn anytime.
2. Average Down. Which you'll need to put in at least the same amount of capital you have already invested.

It's really unfortunate to see your profits turn to losses.
I had this before, feel really sucks.
You should have sold when you see that huge drop in early May.
When I see the STI crosses SMA (20), I sold all the trading stocks.

Obviously you are a holding type of 'investor'.
When the market served you a big plump fatty profit, you are still not happy...
And you still want it to get even more fatty bom-bom.
My principle when I trade and invest is this...
I always "leave some for the next man"...
That's why the beastly market loves me so much...
hehehe...
