Is it a confusing statement? Got operating profit but losses from foreign exchanges. Then net is still loss. Why still give dividend when the exchange rates are going down?

Oh no, looks like a sell down tomorrow. Interesting to see if the buying support will still be there. So the directors were selling because of this? Why no insider trading??

Profit Guidance
In anticipation of the release of the Group’s second quarter results for FY2009, the Board of Directors of
Achieva Limited (the “Company”) deems that it is appropriate to issue a profit guidance.
While the Profit from Operations is expected to be positive, the Group would post a Net Loss before Tax,
as a result of foreign exchange losses. Such foreign exchange losses would include a one-time loss on
the conversion of US dollar bank fixed deposits to Singapore dollar to pay the interim dividends of S$20.8
million in June 2009. Despite hedging forward, this loss was incurred due to the significant weakening of
the US dollar against Singapore dollar in the second quarter of FY2009.
Further details of the Group’s performance will be disclosed when the Company announces the unaudited
financial results for the second quarter of FY 2009.

well people. dividends is the periogative of the board. Not the finance manager. That kind of talk can get him/her fired so it would be good if no one calls the company or unintentionall cause someone to lose his/her job
they are not in a position to comment and even if they do, you should never take it as the truth.
Your decision to invest is purely on market information and market risks. there has been significant buy ups in the last 2 weeks so I'm just keeping cross with the market sentiment strong, there will be premiums on NTA pricing.
Anyway, went in again at 9c t increase holdings. SHould have done it last week when it was 8c to 8.5c
yeah...me too quite surprised...me just hint hint you see...but the person gruffly told me ... just because the prev one was an interim div ..does not necessarily mean there will be a final one.... that really put a dampener on my wish to buy achieva again...that time it was about 7.5 cents...jerk!

I am surprised the "manager", whoever he/she is, can talk like that. Should have said no comment mah. Is he/she can tell you, then it is insider trading already :)

well. that's what I'm doing. Waiting it out.
I'm betting on another good 2nd quarter result from the company and another dividend payout as part of the plan.
It was of no coincidence that last week, I saw major buy ups in large lots of 100 - 500 taking out lots of impatient sellers tired of waiting.
At least those vested know how long to wait...for(ever) some time...hehe...;) Patience pays off. Meantime just vest in other counters. Use the profit & buy in here.

I think have to wait forever for this one.
Buying is rather constant today. Sellers may have been exhausted at this price level.
But dun expect its price to surge, it seem to be very tightly controlled.
Still some way for those who are trying to mop it up.
