Hulumas

I am one of ur secret admirer,in terms of trading style. The never say die attitude and the courage to DECLARE what u are about to do.

Unlike ppl who are evasive about what the hold but talk alot.Worst still, they always tell u they make money as if they are the smartest in town.

As part of my learning curve, would u be able to give me an indication of the amount of investable money to "play" ur style?

U can email me privately at geojam2@optusnet.com.au if u want it to be kept private? But it is ok if u choose not to reply me.I can understand.

 cheers

Dear Teeth53,

Whatever you like to say, carry on. You like to short sell all the way till USD. 0.005 please do so. I tell you, you have the right to do so, and more importantly, no one will stop you doing that. Happy investing and speculating!!!

Hi all, l

Like i say, hope not to add word into my mouth eg: doomed doomed and those..Did i ever say anything SC will await it doomday.

If I am wrong please correct me. I am just as human.

teeth53 and a few others show that "Doomsday" for SC seems imminent - it's DOOMED, DOOMED?   It's going to take   "eternity" to recover?

To add to teeth53, and at the risk of attracting more snide remarks and being labelled as 'real wise men' by a veteran member.....allow me to make more unsolicitated comments.....not necessarily related to SC...but in general.

In sports, there is a saying..' Its not whether or win or lose but its how you play the game'.  As a retail investor, this is all nonsense......the only objective in the stock market game is to make $$$$...and to make $$$$ is to WIN.

So, if 'loyalty' to any stock becomes a mill around our neck, as retail players, we can cut it off without any consequence.

However, this is not the case for major share holders and directors of the company. If their divestment is read by the market as loss in confidence in their own company, the consequence will inevitably be a sell down. As such, major shareholders and directors have no choice but to display 'loyalty' to the stock.....more for self preservation than for noble reasons.....

So, as a 'real wise man', my personnal principle of  investment is to view all stock from their ability to continue generating returns...... failing which, I will redirect my limited capital to stocks that will satisfy my needs......with absolutely no sentiment about all the good the stock has done for me in the past.

Inferences as 'real wise man' is very flatteing......but, please, no more of it lest I get too swell headed.

In another case study on  penny construction stocks like sapphire and Jasper, wher ppl's chased it stock to 5c and 4c respectively, while UOB and OCBC sold their share away at that price at that point in time and now after all this so call free market trading is done, it now stood at 3c and 1.5c respectively for Sapphire and Jasper, so it is this value that stood out at this point in time by absolutely share market value.

??? isit loss making absolutely does it mean worthless ??.

Ans is.. It is not, (is worth 1.5c in the case for Jasper)

Even on a long term investment, say eg Genting . It very own insider (directors) sold their shares, Y so, think (to them), those Genting directors tot share has gone to a high of .....) they would like too, to take some profit selling away some if it share at about 80c to 90c plus plus, thing it may be going a little unstable for price to sustain above a dollar on a while. Isit insider is also on a very term investment on Gen't and on SC and why they want to took profit at this point in time and why don they wait for a dollar to come since DBS has a good recommendation on Genting.

To each it own, just do trade with care, (not talking down when mkt is on bearish mode or talk up when mkt is on bullish mode).

Just tot of sharing some info here and such news is oredi out there.

Hi Hulumas and all,

Worthless is a conception plan concept thinking planted in one mindset that oneself can only be understood.

(In term of money managment  one has enuf to loss/win and/or be given away for whatever causes, be it lossing/winning US100k, a million or whatever amount to whatever one causes can think of.....)

Worthless or not is also up to oneself, even if it is of value or zero value and in investment term point of view, is it only when companies goes blank or gone case. it is worthless.

Loss making absolutely, it mean it does loss it value beyond recovery.

Does not mean worthless!!!, it mean it still has it very own value, be it for eg: it is US$0.62c or US0.062c and/or be written off to "zero value", it still of zero value or can be more then "zero value".

In case study for eg SC, it high is US$0.62c, now closed of at US$0.275c which is about 55.5% away from it peak value on absolutely term, so it true market value at this point in time stood at.. isit worthless!!!, it think not. It is still value at US$0.275c.

I am just think aloud and tot so, just my tot.

Best Regards.

In an open and free market, there are many different types of investors...shortist, contras, TAs, FAs, BBs etc .........each of them are trying to profit from the market the way they know best. So, one should accept their existance and their right 'play' the market and not blame anyone if the market does not go they way they like it to.

However, in this thread, I discovered another class of investor...the 'ostrich'.....those who bury their heads in the sand and blind themselves to the realities of the opportunities and pitfalls around them.

But....it is a free market and they are free to make their choice...and I sincerely wish them all the best... I truely admire their guts and loyalty  to the stock they have selected.

lausk22 - SC is a super-powered liner, not a sampan.  Its biz is big and can't afford to cruise at very slow speed or else it can't make money. Hope the daily trading volume remains small every day  as  the buyers are  likely  "investors" (whose investment  will be for a few months)  NOT contra players who often kill a share.

Coupled with SC's investment in Macau and the sale of its cruises to the very big China market (whose pple are likely to bet big on board SC), the growth potential of of SC shd be good - that's why SH has invested  in SC (Asia's biggest cruise operator).  SH is clearly a shrewd businessman, unlike our real wise men in SJ forum who think that SC is doomed and will take many years (judging by their SJ ostings, may be in 2008 or beyond) to recover its glorious past !

SC will definitely get a better return in the future, MACAU has become the world largest casino country in term of revenue.
Macau very near to the big pie china, china economy boom, ppl get rich, surely will bet higher in casino.

When so many think it's sell, time to have a contranian action.
