to induce small investors to sell, giantlow.

'cos logic (or more precisely, emotion) dictates that if you see the entire market moving up, and aahhhh, this counter not moving, should i sell should i sell? *indecisive state* and then you see 120 lots queued to sell, you'll panic and join the queue to sell.

it's churning to churn up the small fishies.

i dun see the purpose of scraping the barrel activities. what is the purpose ah? seems to be just incurring transaction costs.

em, but we're not just expecting dividends, are we? as in, my thought was that share price will go up as well. before CNY would be good actually; i'm a bit concerned about budget day effects on general market.

hi lookseeonly,

by my estimates, the game goes on til abt feb 23rd/25th. that was last year's FYE and announcement of results. when is this year's, victorian?

as i said somewhere earlier in this thread: expect deliberate control of this counter. the more the STI shoots up, the more it'll be tightly controlled. or even dip a little. Pure psychological game; impatient people will get bored and sell ("why edmi never go up, everything else going up!"); that's exactly what they'd want.

if you're vested, hang in there. this one needs to be hunted differently from normal stocks since it's cornered. its trading patterns will be different.

Actually... they "nudge"... if they shake, the whole game will just hang.... hehe :)

keke, to extend the metaphor, we could also add here that bigtime pinball players also shake/bang/rattle the machines at times to shift the game ever so slightly to their favour. so smaller guys beside them have got to watch out to avoid getting bruised man...

sigh. i'm playing kinda aggressively now i know, 'cos i need to build up capital, but in the future when my funds are more consolidated, i'd so not be taking riskier risks man. pinball players are experts in their field; longterm i know i don't have the personality to sustain that kind of momentum.

That's okay...

But there are types like "pinball" players who go for such action where their skills are put to profitable use. If you play pinball seriously, you'll know what I mean... :)

to be honest, stable and sweet are the kind of stocks i'd prefer. not rollercoaster rush up to the heavens, which yea, gives a huge adrenaline rush and fast profits, but to me, are realistically unsustainable and require so much more care and speed (to cut loss fast) when trading.

never liked volatile stocks...

i bought my first lots at 28c. :) had to spread over a few days tho, since wasn't able to get all at one shot. it's ok. sitting on them now and just waiting.

tech-wise: am expecting them to manipulate the counter further to shake out the small retailers, who are likely to get frustrated by the current bull run in other counters, yet edmi 'not moving' since oct.

Would likely see a drop in price next week (28.5-29.5cents?) esp if STI keeps going up. The logical expectation is to drop the price of this counter while STI (and everything else) is going up, so as to unnerve small timers to unload this stock ahead of its FYE. which is easy enough to do since they've cornered this one.

in other words, expect movement inverse to the market in general.

any thoughts?

thanks victorian for the regular updates. :)

aside, would you be able to calculate how much free float is left? i don't have access to vol/price data, so difficult to do that myself.

belated thanks to you for all your work here, victorian. :)

I had missed EDMI when i was weeding through the SGX list at end last year for this year's FA buys (since was looking at dollar plus stocks only); after your post i went to find out more abt it, so vested. :)
