Thanks bullish will keep in mind. Granted one must be well versed in quick scanning financial stm if announcement is 8.30am or midway trading hrs ie.10am. Subsequently, time to market to execute is another trait. Lol
When u subscribe to the Edge, Business Times and Bloomberg, does the news company will email your requested corporate results real time?

Make a habit to do back-tracking and note the dates and times of past announcements and study how the market reacted with the price dips or price spikes. Very profitable trader's skill. Giving you guys a heads up. Look at how the market reacted to UOB's news on Thursday and Friday. Note the news announcements dates and times. Note the result announcement date and time. Compare it to the Intraday charts. This will tell you when and what time to enter for OCBC and take the price spike ride upwards. Enter at the wrong point in time and you may make a loss instead of profits. Trading is not for the faint-hearted

Hi BT. When you say your money is on OCBC do you mean we should try to buy a bit on Mon?? Or will it be too late already as UOB as announced profits so OCBC should be making a profit also. Thanks!

this 1 cannot predict 1 lor. he 1 shot buy over the founders holdings, thereby initiating a mandatory take over cause he exceeded 30%. if he has like 29% initially then i think BT would have vest a little in it. but this case is from 0 to 30+ %, those people who bought to speculate on the results of the FY, now got a nice bonus.

Well having said that, here is a shorting opportunity. Study the charts to see how much more downside is possible.

CapitaLand Q3 net profit falls 43%, misses forecast |
Tags: Capitaland | Temasek WRITTEN BY THOMSON REUTERS | FRIDAY, 29 OCTOBER 2010 17:31 | CapitaLand (CATL.SI), Southeast Asia’s biggest property developer, reported a 43% fall in its third-quarter net profit on Friday — missing forecasts — due to lower rental from shopping malls.
CapitaLand, 39% owned by Singapore state investor Temasek (TEM.UL), earned $159.6 million in pre-exceptional net profit the three month ended September, down from $281.3 million a year ago. The net profit was lower than $241.5 million average estimate of four analysts polled by Reuters.
"Revenue in the third quarter was lower due to a decrease in progressive revenue recognition from residential projects in Singapore and China as well as lower rental from our shopping malls," the company said in a statement. CapitaLand shares have declined by 7.4% so far this year, underperforming the broader Singapore index <.FTSTI> which gained 8.5%. |

Private investor Peter Lim makes general offer for Thomson Medical Centre |

WRITTEN BY THE EDGE |
FRIDAY, 29 OCTOBER 2010 20:11 |
Sasteria, an investment holding company controlled by private investor Peter Lim, today said it is making a mandatory conditional cash offer for Mainboard-listed Thomson Medical Centre.
The mandatory conditional offer is triggered by a married deal between Sasteria and the largest shareholder and founder of Thomson Medical, Dr Cheng Wei Chen and his family. Under the deal, the latter sold their 39.34% stake in Thomson Medical to the former at the offer price of S$1.75 a share. Under the Singapore Code on Takeovers and Mergers, the cash offer will be extended to the remaining issued shares and is conditional on Sasteria acquiring more than 50% of Thomson Medical.
The offer price of $1.75 represents a 62% premium over the last traded price of Thomson Medical, and values the company at approximately $513 million. It is also the highest share price the company has ever been valued at since it went public in 2005.
Peter Lim says: “Thomson Medical is a leading healthcare service provider in Singapore for obstetrics, gynaecology and paediatric services. Given the growing population and affluence in the region, there will be increasing demand for private healthcare services. Singapore is a regional hub for such services and Thomson Medical is well-placed to tap on this demand. We believe it has potential to develop further as a regional healthcare company.”
Lim, 57, is a Singaporean businessman with extensive interests in a range of industries including agribusiness, fashion, logistics, food and beverage and healthcare. He is the second largest shareholder of F J Benjamin Holdings. More recently, Lim became a cornerstone investor in Global Logistic Properties (GLP), the largest provider of modern logistic facilities in Asia.

Those on CFDs, should look out for counters with weak results. Short those counters down and cover your shorts at the bottom. It is usually easier and faster to make money on shorts. I am not posting opportunities for shorts because most people here are still trading traditional shares. |
