Sorry to ask hor, but can any one tell me if Index Points (Market Indices) can be invested/speculated ?

I am asking cos i am a newbie and think straight that could it be BBs sold the Indices heavily across the board and thus cause panic sellings by retailers, investors, speculators etc ?

A bit like all BBs agreed on the timing to sell their Market Index Points for one reason or another ?Smiley

Pai Seh and correct me if i am wrong...Thanks

hope everyone is and will be fine. can be quite a scary day on 18 Jul. let's be strong :)

fruitty is okie with many kinds of fruits, no one favorite one. am actually a carnivous most of the time and stay off veggie. like nature though. i can't say eating fruits are best (to get necessary vitamins etc) coz natural as many plants are less "naturally" cultivated to bear fruits fast and big (sometimes depends on country of produce). there's number code on fruits in supermarkets that starts with "#3xxx" and #4xxx" i think. was once told that one is produced more naturally than the other (sorry, dun remember which).

u guys are really funny :) started an interesting discussion just with a nick :)

Dev Charge went up from 50% to 70%, so developers can sustain, may be property price may stagnant for a mth, then ppl don't feel it anymore and the property prices may inch up slower as the prices are still far lower than in 1997. Property owners who want to sell were getting greedier by the day in the last 3 mths. Last night, someone asked for $850K for a property that was bought for $650K just before 1997 financial crisis.

hi all,

STI was terribly down today, dragged by the property n construction counters as a result of the sudden announcement by the govt to increase Development Charge(DC) rate. Fyi, DC are updated only in march and september n this annoucement was a real surprise and caught everyone. What this might means is that the govt is stepping in to curb the prop market to slow down the prop sector.. With increase DC, developer now has to pay more for intensifying land use or topping up land tenure back to 99yrs.

However, the drop in property counters today may just be a knee jerk reaction, perhaps continuing tmr especially if investors tot it is a general mkt correction and continue selling dwn when in fact it was probably due to the ppty sector only. good chance to buy in more if you r confidence.

Just my personal opinion..

EastonBay....at your request how about these verses...

When the market is a sea of red

Please don?t fret

But take time to lay your bet

On whatever good stock you can get

Do not forget

High prices need to correct

Back to certain level that?s not bad

Then bargain stocks will be widespread

For clever savvy fishermen to catch

So again, please don?t fret

This is a golden time to make extra bread

When the market is a sea of red!

lausk22,

I'm certainly hoping to get wiser but not older. Any inspirations for creative poems in this sea of red?

Chinkiasu....

I'm neither Laotze nor a philosopher of any sort. Just a plain ordinary man, hopefully growing older but wiser by the days.

Mani....

You agnostic/atheistic expression is such an amazing grace! ...;)
