Usually Wednesday is a good day for market. I think 40/52 week is good day on Wednesday :)

LOL

Just came back from a good jog around Bishan park. You guys still around.

Look at how volatile Dow Jones is tonight.

I expect STI to be just as volatile tomorrow.

Remember, QE2 will be announced on Wednesday.

It is almost confirmed there will be a QE2.  But the question is, how much?

Too little and the markets will dive. So it has to meet expectations.

Tomorrow will be an interesting day at the market again  Smiley

MARKETWATCH FIRST TAKE

Nov. 1, 2010, 11:16 a.m. EDT

Is the third time the charm?

Commentary: Dow, yet again, attempts to eclipse April high

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (MarketWatch) — For the third time in two weeks, blue chips are back to the level to which they rose at their April high.

On both prior occasions, of course, the Dow Jones Industrial Average(DJIA 11,150+31.56+0.28%) retreated later in the session and ended up closing below the gauge’s April high of 11,205.03.

Opening Bell Report from MarketWatch Radio Network

The latest money and markets news with Ann Cates and the MarketWatch Radio Network.

Will today’s attempt be more successful? And what will it mean for the stock market if the Dow fails for a third time?

The conventional wisdom is that today’s attempt represents a make-or-break moment for the rally. After all, goes the rationale, a third failure in a row indicates that the rally is getting rather long in the tooth.

But at least some advisers see a silver lining in how long it has taken the Dow to eclipse its April high. Among this group is Jack Schannep, editor of TheDowTheory.com, who has one of the better stock-market-timing records over the last decade among the nearly 200 tracked by the Hulbert Financial Digest.

“The longer it takes for the Dow to close above its April highs,” Schannep argues, “the more vigorous should be the breakout. Breaking through this resistance level should bring some welcome press coverage and attention to the fact that the market would be up some 15% off the summer lows and over 70% above the March 2009 lows.”

BT, is this true? The girl never say this except got interest which is daily.

eastcivic      ( Date: 01-Nov-2010 17:53) Posted:

hmmmm i think it is better, because with city index, we are buying 1 cent higher and selling 1 cent lower than actual shares for those counters priced below $10. above $10, it is a 2 cent difference

BullishTempo      ( Date: 01-Nov-2010 20:23) Posted:

Beginners are advised to trade normal shares first !

I know of some people who use CFDs, or Options and lost so much they have to sell car, and almost sell house.

Leveraged trading is at a whole new level, and you must know your risk management very well.

You have been warned.

Yes, agreed that risk management is utmost important.  Know when to cut loss so that one can still survive to fight the next battle. I use 5% mark or support level;whichever is triggered earlier as my stop loss.

BT,  could you share how you manage risk when u trade? tks
