Ship/Rig building and repair business are medium to long term projects and seasonal fluctuations is not a major factor. As such, it is better to compare QoQ results as opposed to YoY.
YoY, the 1Q08 results looks pretty decent but if you compare QoQ, the result is not impressive at all.

For Bonus issues, the postscrips against the counter will be CB (cum bonus) and XB (exercise bonus).....different from CD and XD for dividents.

Think you are referring to bonus issue. Won't get this time.
If you are qualified, will only get cash dividend this time.
You can check this info by going to SGX website, click Price, select Semb Marine, select Bonus/Dividend info.

But I remember last year during Aug/Sept Sembmar also have XD but they give extra shares (every 5 lots gets 2 lots free, I got 1.2 lot free).
So how can I tell this time will I get shares or cash??

XD = Exercise Dividend
when u hold it during CD (Cum Dividend) ...the companies gives out cash to reward its shareholders..yep u r rite to say holders of Semb Mar will get their share of dividends
normally after XD...a share price will drop...usually la..not always though...tt's becoz after getting the dividend...ppl sell off that counter

Thanks for the brief history lesson in Sembcorp. I agreed with you on the divestment of SembLog but I guess its a decision someone has to make and he took it. Good or bad, I suppose its which side of the coin we chose to look at.

Update on the Carioca field.
Brazil's plan to become one of the world's biggest oil exporters hinges on exploiting crude 6 miles below the ocean surface in deposits so hot they can melt the metal used to carry uranium to nuclear plants.
Tapping what may be the biggest oil finds in the Western Hemisphere in 3 decades will require equipment that can withstand 18,000 pounds per square inch of pressure, enough to crush a pickup truck, pipes that can carry oil at high temperatures above 500 degrees Fahrenheit (260 Celsius) and drill bits that can penetrate layers of salt more than one mile thick.
Petroleo Brasileiro SA, the state-controlled oil company, is betting on the Tupi and Carioca fields to become one of the world's 7 biggest crude exporters. Until the tools needed to exploit the reservoirs are invented, the crude will remain locked under the sea, said Matt Cline, a U.S. Energy Department economist.
The obstacles will discourage development unless crude prices stay high, said Tina Vital, an analyst at Standard & Poor's in New York.
