you are right. imho, tmr last chance to grab commodity counters. cause i think commodity counters will respond the strongest due to influx of money into stock market, and also weakening of US$.

like goldenagri. if tmr doesnt work well, then there is still hope for next thurs. hahaha

Quantitative Easing. In simple terms, the central bank creates new money out of thin air and normally use it to purchase bank assets. It is just flooding the market with more money.

QE2 affects all stocks in general. If you have not learnt anything from last week Wednesday's dive, then better to stay out of the market this week.

Nobody looking at US market?

The investors and top people in the USA would already know what to expect from QE2.

They are the people closest to the source of the news.

And their sentiments will be reflected by the market movement.

Volatility will mean uncertainty. Uncertainty about QE2.

A stable and maintained bull market tonight will imply confidence, and good sentiments about QE2.

A bear market tonight will tell you things are going wrong and they know QE2 will not deliver.

There is no need to guess.

Just look at the market for clues and direction.

Here's an analysis about QE2 that I just read:

There have been estimates that the market has discounted a QE2 of between $500 billion and $1 trillion. Let's go through the scenarios:

Too Little -- The Fed has almost guaranteed a QE2, so doing nothing seems off the table. $500 billion in my mind has been fully discounted. $500 billion will create a sell-off in commodities and equities. I'm not so sure about Treasuries because that is what the Fed will be buying.

Too Big -- more than $1.5 trillion. Gold (GLD), silver (SLV), oil (USO), and Treasuries (TLT) rocket higher. Equities jump, but it might be a headfake. If the Fed thinks things are that bad, there might be second thoughts on owning equities.

Just Right -- $750 billion to $1 trillion. That's my "just right." I think Treasuries rally, but I'm not sure about gold and equities.

In any case, at 2:14 p.m. next Wednesday, if you have to own anything, Treasuries look the safest. Anything else could see some serious volatility. However, there's one more possibility and it might be the highest probability: The Fed comes out and says it will start buying $100 billion a month, but it hasn't decided how big the program will be. Now, nobody will know what to do, but I doubt the markets will handle that calmly. In terms of pure volatility, that could cause some serious whipsaw action.

Baring any additional information, I suspect I'll be mostly cash into the event, but possibly with a couple of call/put positions. I can't ever remember an event, potentially market moving, telegraphed this far in advance that has so much uncertainty. Think about your positions this week, and what strategy you want to use. Next Wednesday at 2:00 won't be a good time to mull strategy

When in doubt, I will follow tradition.

9 out of 10 times in the past years in the USA, mid-election week is a bullish week. And this week is mid-election week.

Most analysts and reports are affirmative of QE2 package. Only question is how much.

Most analysts expect a spike in stock markets after QE2.

Most analysts expect a sell-off next week, after the QE2 spike.

Anticipate the market and follow the most likely path.

But be prepared in case the plan goes wrong.

If you are prepared for the worst, you will be fine. Example, stop-loss already in place, or hedge position in place.

Then you can sleep well at night.

Cheers.

Global markets will be looking at Dow Jones tonight and tomorrow night for cues to stock market direction.

US market already opened 20 minutes ago. And from the looks of it, I already have a good idea where STI is going tomorrow.

I won't concern myself too much yet with today's GenSp price fluctuation.

One black candle is not confirmation of a correction yet.

my ideaology is that if i q at lower price, and it hits, there is a chance that it gets hit on a sell down, and i will get pulled down too.

Keep your stop-losses tight and get ready for the ride, up or down.

Beginners are advised to stay out of the market this week.

Not sure about the posting time for QE2 announcement.

Based on some website that I stumbled upon, their midterm election is Tuesday, (US time) which is today. QE2 is Wednesday, 2:15 (US time)
