Shares of Singapore’s Neptune Orient Lines <NEPS.SI> rose as much as 3.7% to a six-month high on Wednesday, on hopes it will benefit from a rise in shipping volume ahead of the peak year-end holiday season. At 0253 GMT, NOL, the world’s sixth largest container shipping firm, was up 3.2% at $2.26, with over eight million shares changing hands. “There’s a lot of anticipation as we approach the year-end peak holiday shopping season, which typically generates more container volumes,” said a local trader. The trader added that NOL’s shares have more room to gain further, as they are still “nowhere near their peak in 2007”. NOL shares were worth $5.78 in July 2007. |

Tiger Airways (J7X.SG) +3.2% at $1.94 in better-than-average volume; buyers likely returning after its largely uninterrupted decline in October as 2Q earnings show sequential improvement in net profit, +642% on quarter; UOB KayHian, which keeps Sell rating, $1.41 target, says 2Q a “good set of results considering problems with flight cancellations (in early October due to technical issues with two planes),” but expects costs to escalate in 2H10. “Much of the savings in non-fuel costs were due to lower maintenance charges, which we reckon should rise in 3Q10 due to the grounding of two aircraft.” Notes jet fuel prices +5.6% since end-September; 3Q revenue growth could still be higher as Tiger adds new routes, new aircraft which could increase 2H seat capacity at least 60% vs 1H10. Orderbook quotes suggest $1.96 may cap gains today. |

Yeah paiseh, was busy in morning.
Bought Golden Agri at 0.665
Posted buy call last week.
Remember market always moves in anticipation of good news or bad news.
If the market anticipates good news tomorrow, it will move up today.
If the market anticipates bad news tomorrow, it will dive today.
So it is obvious what the market is anticipating.

Indofood Agri-Resources downgraded to 'hold' by UOB Kay Hian |

WRITTEN BY THE EDGE |
WEDNESDAY, 03 NOVEMBER 2010 11:45 |
UOB Kay Hian in a Nov 1 research report says: "Indofood Agri Resources’ (IFAR) core net profit declined 20% y-o-y to Rp774 billion in 9M10. "This was mainly attributable to: (a) lower total sales by 3.8% y-o-y, (b) lower forex gain from Rp250.9 billion in 9M09 to Rp65.4 billion in 9M10 and (c) higher operating expenses. Quarterly net profit increased 26% q-o-q on higher crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernal average selling prices (ASP). Revenue declined 1.8% y-o-y on lower sales volume. "We lower our earnings forecasts by 18.5% to Rp1,109 billion for 2010 and by 13.0% to Rp1,478 billion for 2011 to factor in lower cooking oil price assumption as well as sales volume due to stiff competition in the domestic cooking oil market. Fair price of $2.65 as we lowered our PE valuation to 13x 2012F PE. DOWNGRADE TO HOLD." |

WRITTEN BY THOMSON REUTERS |
MONDAY, 01 NOVEMBER 2010 11:02 |
Shares of Singapore-listed Golden Agri-Resources (GAGR.SI) rose 5.4% to $0.685 on Monday, boosted by news palm oil refiner Mewah International has set an indicative price for its IPO. Over 28.9 million shares had changed hands by 0252 GMT. Mewah, which filed an IPO prospectus on Friday, is looking to raise as much as $449 million in its Singapore initial public offering. The company plans to sell up to 289.5 million shares to investors, including a 37.8 million primary share greenshoe option, at $1.25 to $1.55 each, according to IFR Asia. “The market has generally been pretty bullish about the prospects for palm oil firms. Moreover, if Mewah’s IPO does well, this could be an additional boost to Golden Agri’s shares,” said a local trader. |

Golden Agri Resources rated 'buy' by OCBC |

WRITTEN BY THE EDGE |
TUESDAY, 26 OCTOBER 2010 15:15 |
OCBC Investment Research in an Oct 26 research report says: "Golden Agri Resources (GAR) is likely to see a pretty decent 3Q10 performance, aided by the recovery in CPO (crude palm oil) prices in the later half of the quarter as well as higher CPO output from its estates. "As a recap, CPO prices have recovered sharply from an average of US$791/ton in 2Q10 to around US$821/ton; and we may see further room for earnings upside in 4Q10 as well, given that CPO prices are now hovering around US$900/ton. In view of the still upbeat outlook for CPO, we are raising our CPO assumptions for both FY2010 and FY2011 and we now expect prices to average around US$825/ton and US$860/ton respectively (versus US$800/ton). "While bearing in mind the potential rise in export taxes, we also raise our earnings estimates for FY10 by 5.6% and for FY11 by 14.0%. As a result, our fair value improves to 78 cents. MAINTAIN BUY." |
