Puts Buy rating, $16.00 fair value under review pending analysts’ briefing. Resistance tipped at 30-day moving average, last $14.33.

Singapore rose 1.6% to a two-year high of $1.98 in Singapore today after the shipbuilding and bulk shipping group said its third-quarter net income more than doubled.

Four stocks advanced for each that fell in the benchmark equity index of 30 companies. Shares on the measure trade at an average 15.8 times estimated earnings, compared with about 17.4 times at the beginning of the year, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The following shares were among the most active in the market. Cosco Corp. Singapore (COS SP), a China-based shipbuilder that also operates bulk carriers, climbed 2.6% to $1.99. The company said its third-quarter net profit more than doubled to $55.1 million from $22.3 million a year earlier.   DBS Group Holdings (DBS SP), Southeast Asia’s biggest bank, rose 0.7% to $14.20. The bank said third-quarter net income increased 28% to $722 million from a year earlier. Analysts had expected profit of $655.9 million, based on the average of eight analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg.   Rotary Engineering (RTRY SP), the builder of storage tanks for the oil and gas industry, slipped 1% to $1.03. The company said third-quarter profit slipped 4% to $10.2 million from a year earlier even as revenue climbed 43% to $155.5 million.   SATS (SATS SP): The ground-handling services provider partly owned by Temasek Holdings Pte gained 0.4% to $2.90. UBS AG raised its share price-forecast to $3.40 from $3 and maintained its “buy” rating.

Singapore Hot Stocks-Cosco up on strong Q3 results 04 Nov 2010 - 09:46 SINGAPORE, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Shares of Singapore-listed Chinese shipbuilder Cosco Corp rose as much as 2.6 percent in early trade on Thursday after it reported strong third-quarter earnings. At 0124 GMT, Cosco shares were up 2.1 percent at S$1.98 on a volume of 17.8 million shares. Cosco reported a 147 percent increase in its third-quarter net profit to S$55.1 million ($42.9 million) from a year ago mainly due to higher revenue from the firm's shipbuilding and offshore marine engineering projects, as well as dry bulk shipping. [ID:nSNZ4RjPXm] "The group expects the pace of new orders to slow down in the final quarter. However, we are optimistic that order flows will pick up again in 2011, potentially on the offshore side," Kim Eng said in a report. The brokerage raised its target price for Cosco to S$2.43 from S$2.10 and maintained its "buy" rating.
