But gains fairly modest so far, reflecting investor caution ahead of long weekend (during which U.S. payrolls will be released), with Singapore markets shut tomorrow for public holiday; “I think we’ll probably get a little bit of a chance to take profit because the market has done very well recently and we’re going into a long weekend...that makes sentiment a little bit more jittery,” says analyst at local brokerage.

STI last +0.4% at 3237.01, tracking gains across region after U.S. markets respond positively to Fed’s US$600 billion ($771 billion) easing program.

Adds reaction to Fed was always going to be muted as market’s recent rally mostly priced in QE2. DBS (D05.SG) last +0.7% after its 3Q net profit beats consensus, thanks to trading gains; Cosco (F83.SG) +2.0% at $1.98, after its 3Q results show 147% on-year rise in net profit. Medium-term hurdles for STI at 3250, then May 2008 peak at 3267.

Another takeover bid in Singapore’s healthcare sector highlights its attractiveness, says OCBC analyst Andy Wong; says after Parkway Holdings (P27.SG) announced proposal to be delisted after acquisition by Khazanah, “Thomson Medical Centre (5FV.SG) could follow suit after prominent investor Peter Lim’s general offer to acquire its shares at $1.75 a piece;” says shareholders will likely accept offer as values TMC at 33.5X P/E vs 15X historical average.

Says “this is a testament of the high quality of healthcare providers here and has generated renewed hype in the healthcare sector,” with spillover effects seen in Raffles Medical (R01.SG) shares +1.8% at $2.29 (P/E of 26.4X) after announcement.

Keeps RMG at Hold with $2.35 fair value, as valuations already factor in strong fundamentals. But has Biosensors (B20.SG) at Buy, $1.30 fair value; likes stent-maker for cutting-edge technology, strategy on innovative new products. Biosensors +0.9% at $1.17.

Most seems to prefer beginning Jan.

Maybe I can conduct another one after CNY in February.

Most prefer weekends or weekdays after work.

There could be a problem. No hand-holding session for live trading in the classroom?

Yup, no need to cater to everyone, it is quite impossible to cater to everyone. Just fixed a date and announce but of cos not near to cny period as ppl with families will be very busy. If ppl are interested, die also will come hahaha. Do what u deem best. If there is a need for live trading, do it in the afternoon. We will know that is the best for us and try our best to make it!

nightbane      ( Date: 04-Nov-2010 10:38) Posted:

why not BT give us a date, we take leave on weekday so we can attend day session

yes, perhaps you give us a few dates, then we just apply to you which date we attending.....

this way easier for you.....

plus if there are more than 1 dates, then your classroom size will be smaller, easier to handle?
